Beauty Tips from Backstage NYFW

September 16, 2009

chris_and_jill_2Remember Jillian Lewis, a finalist on season four of Project Runway? Well she debuted her Spring-Summer 2010 Collection at New York Fashion Week and while we didn’t hear great things about it, we think her models looked gorgeous- in large part thanks to beauty expert Christopher Drummond.

Naturally, when given the opportunity, we wanted to pick Christopher’s brain on what they biggest beauty trends would be for this coming season- ones that we can make work for us right now.

Check out Christopher’s tips below and others here.

Which one do you think you’ll put to work this Fall/Winter?!

Hydrated skin: Winter is so damaging to the skin (wind, cold, and sun-it’s a triple threat!). To maintain skin hydration is good not only because it protects the skin, but it allows for you to have healthy-looking, glowing skin, which is a HUGE trend for winter. Our product, Saude Pele Radiance Booster, helps to give the skin that look if you aren’t able to get it the right way. This antioxidant-packed skin saving and hydrating powder does for your skin what the harsh weather doesn’t.

Deep Green Eye Liner: Perfect for the commitment-phobic, a shimmery deep green liner is a great addition to the eyes without going full out. It adds a dash of color without looking like you have too much color on. We are coming out with a gorgeous color called Peacock that everyone is dying over…it’s a gorgeous color, and isn’t blatant, so you can wear it with ease….

Minimal Color for day, rich color for night: The big trend for Spring is NUDE NUDE NUDE! So, why not beat everyone to the punch and start the trend early???  Concealer on the lips with a peachy or pink gloss is also going to be hot. For holiday parties, think of rich gunmetal grey (with shimmer!), and decadent purple on the eyes. These colors are dramatic and beautiful on everyone.
