Casual Midi Dress

Casual Weekend Style I wit & whimsy

I’m back in New York as of yesterday afternoon and you guys, I don’t think I’ve ever felt the need to reset so badly. I admittedly made a lot of bad eating choices and therefore I’m feeling bloated, groggy and achy so it’s time to get back to real life.

In order to reset, I did a healthy shop at Trader Joe’s immediately upon my return (no sweets and little to no gluten allowed!), booked some workout classes and am going to work on rehydrating and ideally limiting my sugar and alcohol intake the next two weeks to try and get my body back on track. Do you guys have any good detox recommendations!? Or favorite healthy recipes!? I’d love to hear them for some good inspiration!

In good news, I have plenty of pieces in my wardrobe that have a little give like this new little black dress :). I actually tend to steer clear of wearing a lot of jersey but this dress is made well so that it doesn’t pull or bunch which makes wearing it a breeze.

Since I’m a huge fan of the midi dress (and skirt) shape, when I spotted the dress I immediately purchased it because of its $69 price tag and because I knew I could style it a bunch of ways. It comes in a beautiful blush, too and it is on sale in ivory here.

Did you guys have a good 4th of July holiday? I had so much fun in Minnesota being out on the water every day with two of my best girlfriends but I was indeed ready to get back home after nearly two weeks away. I’m still getting settled into my new apartment (I hope to shoot it this month and finally share it with you guys!) so I’m looking forward to a weekend at home and getting back into my routine.
