Truth be told, I’ve never been that into jewelry. I’ve always preferred to spend my money on bags and shoes but in the past few years that’s changed and I’ve made some investments to add to my jewelry collection to elevate the pieces I wear every day.
One of the brands I have loved collecting beautiful pieces from? Dorsey. I always get asked about the pieces whenever I am seen wearing them so today I am finally sharing a review of the brand.
Dorsey Jewelry Reviews
Dorsey is a lab-grown gemstone direct-to-consumer fine jewelry brand based in Los Angeles, California. They use lab-grown diamonds and gemstones and fine jewelry craftsmanship to create classic, timeless pieces.
Since their launch, Dorsey has garnered a strong celebrity fanbase, including Hailey and Justin Bieber, Bella Hadid, Taylor Swift, Emily Ratajkowski, Lily James; among others.
For my everyday jewelry I like subtle yet striking pieces. Dorsey pieces strike a perfect balance between being special, striking and yet wearable for everyday. They instantly elevate any outfit and the pieces I own from the brand always get me compliments.
What Is Lab-Grown Jewelry
Physically and chemically identical to mined, lab grown sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds are created in a controlled lab environment. This helps address the environmental and labor impact of traditional forms of mining.
The process makes it possible to fairly price the stones according to demand instead of due to supply. Aka: these diamonds are going to be more affordable.
Dorsey Jewelry Founder
Dorsey was started by Meg Strachan in 2019. This was during a time when lab-grown diamonds were a foreign concept for most consumers (myself included!)
Meg, having long worked in the fashion industry, was attracted to the quality and affordability of lab-grown gems and decided to start the company to bring vintage inspired pieces featuring lab grown diamonds to the greater public.
Dorsey Jewelry Review
The brand doesn’t discount ever and pieces often sell out so it is best to grab pieces you love when you see them as you won’t see them running a sale.
Here are the pieces I own and love personally.
Riviere Necklace
This tennis necklace is what put the Dorsey brand on the map.
Their Riviere necklace is a style of jewelry that features a continuous line of stones, usually of the same size and shape. It’s their take on the tennis necklace and I love the two I have. The perfect statement making sparkle yet wearable for every day.
I own the Bennington 3-Prong Riviere necklace in the 18 inch length. And the Moss 4-prong Riviere in a 17 in length (seen above.)
Riviere Bracelet
And of course, a classic tennis bracelet is a beautiful addition to anyone’s jewelry collection. I have the Kate 3MM round cut white sapphire bracelet in a 6.5 in. I do find it does snag on some clothing so just be aware as you wear it!
If you prefer a Bezel setting, the James Bezel collection also features bestsellers for the brand.
Crawford Earrings
My go-to oversized statement earrings. They feature round lab-grown white sapphires of various sizes surrounding a 2 carat asscher cut lab-grown sapphire center stone and secured with a french back.
I own the silver but they also come in gold. I love how vintage and timeless these feel.
They now come in a Petite Crawford size, too.
Lenora Bracelet
I absolutely love this bracelet. Inspired by the sexy, gold link bracelets and watches of the 1970’s I love the vintage vibe of it. Like a classic timepiece without the watch face.
I have the 18K gold coated brass and it has held up so, so well with constant wear. I don’t have to take it off to shower or swim or sleep. It is also available in gold coated sterling silver.
Several lengths are available, I own the 6.5 in.
Hendry Studs
These are a cool statement sparkler. A bar pairs with a stud for a cool-girl earring. I have the 2-carat size but smaller sizes are also available.
Curve Necklace
Everyday statement sparkler. I’ve gotten compliments on this necklace every time I’ve worn it.
It features 13 lab-grown white sapphires (or diamonds if you prefer!) set in a graduating shape.
Dorsey Sizing
As you shop for Dorsey pieces, I recommend you measure before you order.
To determine the most accurate size for your Dorsey necklace or bracelet, it is recommended you follow the steps below:
1. Measure your neck or wrist: Use a tape measure to measure your neck or wrist where you want the necklace or bracelet to sit.
2. Add length for desired fit: Depending on your preference, add an inch or two to the measurement for a looser fit or subtract an inch or two for a tighter fit.
3. Refer to the brand’s Size & Style Guide as it will help you select the appropriate size based on your adjusted measurement.
. . .
Next on my list for my collection? The Dorsey 4-prong Diamond Studs for everyday sparkle. And the Gwen Drop Earrings for evenings out on the town.
Other bestsellers the brand told me is the Clemence Bracelet, the Clemence Necklace and the Lucien Earrings.
Do you have any pieces from the Dorsey line? I’d love to hear your favorites if so!
