Our first show in the tents at Bryant Park this season was Ports 1961 and it did not disappoint.
The first half of the collection was full of grays and neutrals. Suede boots, leather accents and a 1920s influence of bomber-style leather caps and large leather jackets featuring wide (and sometimes shaggy) lapels made for an edgy, but sophisticated collection from Ports.
To-the-elbow leather gloves and bold necklaces were paired with golds and mauves (color tones seen on other runways as well) and flowing fabrics (some that looked as though liquid chocolate was poured over the models’ bodies) were graceful with some hard punches that reflected this ‘heavy metal’ collection.
In viewing this heavy-hitting, structured, yet romantic collection by Elle’s Joe Zee, Whitney Port and Roxy Olin and Olivia Palermo. Here’s some of the looks we saw come down the catwalk:
