My bedroom is my haven. It’s my space of much needed comfort and I’ve set out in the past year to make my bed feel just as luxurious as the ones you find in a hotel when you travel.

You know the feeling, right? That amazing feeling when you fall into a crisp, cozy and oh-so-plush and luxurious hotel bed. Well, I’m so excited that I have managed to recreate it at home and ever since doing so my sleep has benefited (*insert sigh of relief here!*)

How to Make Your Bed Feel Like a Hotel Bed

Add a mattress topper for extra comfort

Wrinkle release your sheets

My favorite trick to making my bed look more like a hotel bed is to wrinkle release my sheets! It’s such a handy hack. After you make your bed spray Wrinkle Releaser all over and smooth over the flat sheet and the top sheet with your hands. In just mere minutes your wrinkles will vanish and you’ll be left with a hotel-style looking bed without the hassle of steaming. (Sometimes it does take two rounds but usually not ever more than that! Just let the fabric dry in between).

Add More Pillows

One of my favorite parts of sleeping in a hotel bed is being surrounded by pillows – even if I usually just sleep on one! 🙂 As part of my attempt at recreating a hotel bed, I ordered two of Brooklinen’s Mid-Plush Down Pillows from their pillow selection and sleeping with them has been bliss. I never realized how much comfort can be found by filling your bed with pillows at home and now I look forward to every time I can crawl into bed to read or watch a bit of TV.

I also love that the Brooklinen pillowcases have an envelope closure so you’re not left looking at the end of your pillows. They’re instead perfectly tucked away.

Add a key layer

In summertime I always look forward to once again adding the Brooklinen Linen Quilt as my key layer. I run hot as a sleeper and therefore in summer I want something on me but nothing that makes me feel hot. This quilt is as light as air and so cozy to tuck in under.

It’s stonewashed for irresistible softness and has a handmade like feel thanks to its subtle, vintage-inspired diamond-stitched detail. It’s made from Belgian and French flax and is such a timeless piece.

Top off your bed with a quality comforter

There’s nothing like a big, fluffy hotel comforter to curl up to your chin after a long day. Brooklinen has a variety of offerings in the category – everything from Weighted Comforters to Down and Down Alternatives.

My bed features the All-Season Down Comforter which is fluffy but not too warm so I can keep it on my bed all year round. It’s cluster-filled so you won’t have to worry about the down dispersing sporadically and has handy loops in every corner so you can easily attach it to your duvet cover. It’s also hypoallergenic!

It tucks into my beloved Brooklinen Linen Duvet Cover. I can’t explain the magic that is this linen. It is so utterly soft and gets better with every wash. I love the lived-in, vintage French feel it adds to my bedroom and I truly look forward every night to pulling it up to my chin and dozing off. I’m not being dramatic when I say – it seriously sparks joy every night I go to bed.

Why Are Hotel Comforters So Fluffy?

Ever wonder why hotels have such fluffy comforters? They definitely use down but they also often stuff two comforters into one duvet cover in each hotel room! This gives an added look and feel of fullness.
