The trend of large sunglasses that come with even larger price tags is nothing new, but might I just say what an essential they are to a WITs accessory department?! I am kind of obsessed. My roommate is kind of obsessed. Another best friend is kind of obsessed. It’s like we’d be lost without the shades on our face- whether they be tattooed with Ray Ban (my aviators are my fav!), Chanel, Dior or another personal favorite Marc Jacobs.
If the thought of less sunshine due to the close of summer being upon us gives you the blues, that means you’re in need of a new pair of glasses because they will be sure to keep you happy all through the Fall and Winter. Plus- what WIT doesn’t need another pair? Let’s be honest, sometimes an outfit or occassion calls for different shades.
If you’re not sure where to start, I recommend the upscale department stores. They have fabulous selections and will give you a really good idea of what’s out there and what the current run rate is. Nordstrom and Bloomingdales are good starting points. Don’t be afraid to try on as many as you’d like. But don’t fall into the trend trap and buy a pair you know you won’t like in a year. Go for sunglasses that suite your style, are functional and most of all have lenses that block out both UVA and UVB rays. A WIT’s got to protect herself from the sun after all!
So even though summer is on it’s way out- don’t forget that sunglasses are key to any WITs wardrobe. Now get out there and show ’em off or- if you’re feeling up to it- make like a celeb and wear them inside or at night. Incognito WITs!
