I at first protested the whole jegging trend because, at first glance, it seemed to be being done all wrong. Cheap, thin fabrics, ill-fitting designs, I could go on…but when the style became more popular and more options became available, Andrea and I both found ourselves with a couple pair and now I secretly love slipping them on.
Anyhow, I’ve been asked before how you go about styling the jean legging look, especially when you’re not a petite little zero like in the magazines. Therefore, I present to you…3 ways to style jeggings, for nearly every woman.
Look 1: An oversized shirt is a great way to mask any tummy issues you want to keep at bay (I love oversized tees and sweaters for this exact reason). Add edgier accessories and a pair of biker boots to balance your look so you don’t appear too top-heavy from the tee and carry a bright colored bag.

Look 2: Boyfriend styled tops aren’t your only option when it comes to balancing your proportions to tackle jeggings. A long cardigan with a thin, textured belt cinched at your waist will draw attention to the skinniest part of your body and a pair of heeled booties will further elongate your legs. Navy and gold accessories top this Fall-inspired look from head to toe.
Look 3: Jeggings are great for a night out, too and I love pairing rocker + glam pieces for a perfect balance of edgy-chic. Wearing an eye-catching top and bright ballet flats dress up lightly distressed denim leggings making the whole outfit very California-evening. Accessories, a clutch and a nail color in muted tones of the same color family help to offset the louder pieces of that of the top and shoes.

Obviously, the styling options are endless. As far as the jeggings themselves go, favorites of mine include those by Paige Denim that Andrea owns and my 7 for All Mankind ‘The Skinny’ ones which are, in particular, so crazy soft and feel like you’re in tights practically.
Oooh, cute! I think look #2 is my favorite! I’m with you…at first I thought jeggings were horrible, but now I’m definitely a fan! There’s definitely a right way to wear these. ;o)
