After ten blissful days in California (two of which were unplanned thanks to winter storm Jonas), I am back in New York and somewhat reeling from the shock to my system of the cold and slush. (“Back to life, back to reality” is playing in my head as I type this post…!)
And with winter reality, comes the art of layering. The other week it was ten degrees in the morning and so very cold. As I was getting ready for work in the morning I just kept asking myself “how many layers can I pile on?” I started with a striped tee (it’s a great layering piece and only $7 on sale right now), added a button down, then put a cropped sweater over both of those. Next came a coat and quite possibly the softest scarf I’ve ever owned. And the best part of over the knee boots? They double as a second layer on your legs – HA!
In related wardrobe news, I finally started reading this while waiting at LAX and I immediately returned home to start discarding things. It’s especially easy to hide things in New York and while I have gotten rid of so much due to lack of space, I certainly have plenty around that I don’t need. Has anyone else read this book!? Do tell me about your experience!
Hope you’re having a good week! xx
Shop the Post:

i love the pins on your coat! they look so nice against the gray! i feel like i’m one of the few people that hasn’t read that book, but i love a good clean out. i’ve been slowly chipping away at everything over the past few weeks!
A fun way to snaz up the coat you know you’ll have to wear far too much over the next few weeks, right!? Hope you’ve been well!
Love the whole look! Very cozy and cute!
