Los Angeles I LA & Palm Springs Travel Diary | wit & whimsy

My recent trip to LA and Palm Springs was so good for my soul. It included lots of sunshine, tons of time with friends, good eats and plenty of time  outdoors. March can be brutal in New York as Winter drags on so this trip was well timed and I thought I’d share some snapshots and highlights from my trip with you guys today!

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

In LA I hit up some favorites of mine like Moon Juice, Urth Caffe, Alfred Coffee and Alfred Tea, Violet Grey, the Santa Monica beach walk and also experienced some new spots. I had an amazing facial at the Kate Somerville Clinic – a brand that I have loved for a long time (their Exfolikate product is holy grail for me and I’ve used it for nearly a decade!) Their clinic is an amazing space tucked away off of Melrose Place and it totally revived my skin after a bit too much travel.  I also checked out the Brentwood Farmers Market which I loved and the dreamy Sweet Laurel Bakery in Palisades Village with my friend Kat.

In Palm Springs it was all about catching up with my girlfriends from college but as I was the first one to arrive, I sneaked in my favorite milkshake from Great Shakes (salted caramel oreo – it is so, so good!) and also some rose at Biba. We also had a great meal at Las Casuelas.

I wanted to thank Mitsubishi for loaning me their amazing new 2019 Outlander Sport which was the best little SUV I’ve ever driven! If I lived in LA I’d buy this car in a heartbeat. It was the perfect size (I much prefer a SUV over a compact car personally) and I loved that it had CarPlay to make GPS navigation easy and Spotify syncing for my playlists seamless.

And in case you missed it, here is what I packed for the trip.

I always leave a bit of my heart in California whenever I leave so it is always a treat to be back!

  1. Your pictures are tugging at my heart. While I’m happy to live in New York again, I loved my 5+ years in LA. Alfred & Urth Caffe were favorites and I’m so sad I didn’t get to the Kate Somerville clinic, maybe on my next trip!
