With no travel on my calendar this month I have been reveling in my weekends at home the past few weeks. When I moved to Brooklyn, I finally understood why my BK friends always preferred to stay in the borough vs. traveling into Manhattan.
There’s something really special about being in Brooklyn on the weekends that’s hard to put into words. It’s so mellow and casual and laid back. There’s a zen flow to the way everyone seems to operate and I have really loved spending time in my neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights but also Dumbo and Prospect Heights. My friend and I have been walking the 3.5 mile loop of Prospect Park on Sunday mornings and I’ve been taking advantage of all the beautiful views in the walk from Brooklyn Heights down to Dumbo. I’ve been prioritizing time at home to read and cook, going to my favorite hot yoga class on Sunday nights, spending as much time outdoors as possible and visiting some of my neighborhood favorites.
While I love my nook of Brooklyn, the borough has so much more to offer and I’m hopeful to start ticking through some spots and neighborhoods on my list in the coming months!
