If I had to wear the same look for the rest of time, it’s safe to say I’d stick with jeans + heels (if you want a fun read on the denim you should own, I’ve built a list here.) I’ve waxed on about the amazing-ness of these DL1961 boyfriend jeans before in this post but they are the most comfortable and I have been reaching for them more than any other pair in my closet recently. As I’ve blogged about before, I love pops of red (see here, here) in outfits so when this monogrammed Madewell shirt came to me I knew I had to style it with jeans + these stellar stilettos.

How did this shirt come to be? A few weeks ago I had the extreme pleasure to visit the J.Crew Headquarters here in New York for the Madewell Fall press preview and felt like I should be pinching myself. It was such an awesome moment to walk into those offices and as a takeaway the brand was monogramming their iconic chambray shirt for editors that attended. Their boyfriend shirt is a wardrobe staple for me (I’ve styled it here, here) and is now carried at Nordstrom. I love having something so personalized and it has served as quite the conversation starter – I sure do love my monograms (note necklace in this post :))

Many of you know this, but when the weather cooperates, I walk to and from work every day. I love the moments of silence in Soho before the city wakes up and so enjoy getting my coffee and sipping on it as I meander to my desk. For the past six months or so the Bowery Mural space has been boarded up due to construction but you may recall the sensation around last year’s masterpiece. When I rounded the corner the other morning and saw the space had finally unveiled a new look I was so excited and knew I had to shoot in front of it. It’s a very interesting piece to say the least and incredibly tongue and cheek but worth checking out if you’ll be in the Nolita/Soho area.

One quick note on beauty: I am in love with this $8 lipstick that is the perfect matte red. It feels glamorous and retro and is the perfect pop of color when dressed in more neutrals (which is essentially the story of my life living in New York. I was appalled the other day at how little color my closet seems to boast at this point!) And I just tried white nails (gels) for Spring given my intense travel schedule and I’m pretty in love. It’s such a fun take and stands out among a sea of pinks, red and peaches. I highly recommend it if you haven’t already!

I got back from Austin late last night so today will be a massive struggle-fest but I had so much fun experiencing a new city and celebrating my best friend’s numbered days as a single lady! In just under three months I’ll get to stand beside her as her Maid of Honor when she marries one of the best guys and I couldn’t be more excited.
