The moment you wake up and you know you’ve slept through your alarm is never a pleasant one. Last week I was set to meet Bekka at 8:30 and awoke at 8:12 from a nightmare. I shot up, heart racing and proceeded to rush through getting ready to meet her 30 minutes late. I despise being late (it gives me unreal anxiety – anyone else experience this?)

The cherry on top was that it was snowing outside rendering me having to throw together a new outfit than what I had initially planned. Enter the Cuyana cape. I originally ordered this cape in the camel color but needed to return it for the Petite size which was sold out at the time I placed my order. I am so glad to now have one in my possession. It is the perfect cozy companion for the office and for travel.

Cuyana makes some of my favorite classic pieces. There’s this tote and this scarf (and I also have their travel cases) and I profiled the designers behind the brand here.

This particular mornings was one of the first snows we’ve had this season so it also allowed me to break out my new Sorel boots– I’m finally properly outfitted for winter! (They are so comfy and fur lined so super warm.)caped5

Bekka and I warmed up over coffee at a neighborhood favorite, Gasoline Alley before I rushed off to work in a flurry (pun intended.)

Not going to lie though…as magical as the snowfall was…just looking at these photos make me shiver! Today I’m on a plane to San Francisco for a weekend with my best gals- a dose of laughter and joy that is just what the doctor ordered. What would one do without friends (seriously though?)
