I used to be adamantly against wearing denim on denim (and navy + black) but recently I’ve been loving it (worn recently here as well.)

And these Alice + Olivia heels that I’ve had for over a year now were one of my best purchases. I adore the snake print and they are so comfortable (how chic are these burgundy versions and Steve Madden makes a similar style for under $90?)

Did you have a good weekend? Mine involved some work which was less than desirable but I soaked up the rest of it. As I mentioned on Instagram, I have signed up for my first half marathon! I am so scared, but excited. I’ve been on a passionate fitness journey of recent (discussed somewhat here), but I have never worked out so much in my life as the last two weeks. It feels good to challenge myself and in 2 weeks I’ll start my training leading up to the May 16th race in Brooklyn (has anyone ever done it? Or ever done a half marathon for that matter- I’d love any advice!)

I don’t know if it’s that I’m hyper aware of getting older of recent (racing towards entering a new decade will do that to a person, won’t it?) but it feels good almost to not recognize myself when it comes to my new commitment to working out. Signing up for ClassPass has helped because I’m thriving off the competition of securing spots in classes but also loving the variety that comes with trying so many different types of work outs. I’m feeling stronger and that is empowering.

And just a word about these jeans. I’ve wanted them for about 2 years now. I found myself constantly “liking” photos with them so when I found them for 30% off, I finally bit the bullet. They are the perfect distressed jeans to wear with heels (a favorite styling of mine but seriously, I need another pair of distressed denim like I need a hole in my head…now I’ve said it in a public forum!)
