Picnic pretty

May 18, 2010

It’s the time of year where we get to plan for time in parks, playing outdoors and having fun get togethers around a picnic or bbq and there’s no better time than an occasion like that to get perfectly paired pieces that will have you ready to soak up the sunshine and be snapped in lots of pics!

We styled three favorite looks for picnic-esque play dates that range from casual all the way to more dressy to ensure you have an outfit that will work perfectly.

Look one:

Warmer weather is a calling with these great little cutoffs and a flowing, floral blouse that offsets the distressed look of the boyfriend shorts.

Joie Denisa Floral Crinkle Chiffon Blouse, $180

Current Elliot Boyfriend Short, $163

Fergie Swerve, $60

Look two:

If your time in the park is going to involve any activities like a little toss of the frisbee or football, you’ll want a little bit more leeway when it comes to what you’ve got on and stretchy, uber comfortable denim leggings could not be more perfect for this. The details Ella Moss print top brings a polished look from head to toe when paired with these little Kelsi Dagger flats.

Ella Moss Willow Top, $148

J Brand Denim Leggings, $139

Kelsi Dagger Monroe sandal, $69.50

Look three:

If your headed outdoors for a more formal affair like a shower or party, laid back lace plus a floral skirt and studded sandals will keep you cool and comfortable, but attire-appropriate.

TopShop All Over Lace Blouse, $65

ASOS Floral printed Ra-Ra skirt, $50

Dolce Vita Estelle, $139

The Kelsi Dagger sandals were much shinier in person, so shiny I sent them back. Too bad.
