The Results of a Skincare Challenge

Meghan Donovan of wit & whimsy Reveals her Olay 28 Day Challenge ResultsIf there’s one thing I’ve become vigilant about in my late 20s and early 30s, it is my skincare routine. My regimen each morning and night is something I’ve come to look forward to and truly believe is worth every minute as things like age, pollution and stress begin to take their toll and show up right on our faces.

Earlier this year I began using the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream and really fell in love with it (you may remember this post) so when Olay approached me about the Olay 28 Day Challenge, aimed at highlighting the real difference you can see in your skin upon using their Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream & Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream products for 28 straight days, I was game.

I should caveat that I have sensitive skin especially underneath my eyes. I have actually gotten contact dermatitis from testing certain eye products previously so I was happy to test out the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream before embarking on the challenge and found no reaction. Above you can see a before photo taken at the onset of the challenge.

I used the two products at morning and at night and found both formulations to be lightweight and loved that they absorbed quickly. The Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream in particular smooths skin so nicely and, after a few weeks of use, I saw a noticeable difference in the firmness of my skin and how hydrated it felt. (I suffer from dry skin particularly at the onset of colder weather.) Makeup application in the morning proved easy and there was no greasiness or residue.

As for the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream, a little goes a long way and I saw a considerable difference in my dark eye circles diminishing. I was able to stop using corrector before applying under eye concealer and was using much less under eye concealer than I used to by week two. I considered this a major win. The fine lines around my eyes also looked softer and less noticeable.

The ultimate endorsement came as I paid my dermatologist a visit on day 20 and, as she looked at my makeup-free skin, remarked “your skin looks great – have you been doing something different since I last saw you?” I told her about the Olay 28 Day Challenge and she replied that her patients “love that line.” (You can see my mid-way photo here.)

One thing to note is that the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream does not have SPF in it so therefore I layered SPF 50 every morning alongside application of the moisturizer. As background, I have a history of skin cancer in my family and my dermatologist tells me time and time again that SPF in makeup doesn’t cut it.

Anyhow, moral of this beauty story? If you’re looking for effective products at affordable prices that will make a difference, I definitely would recommend you embark on your own Olay 28 Day Challenge. The regimen was easy, effective and I really came to look forward to using the products given how I saw them going to work. You can see the evidence in the below after photo taken at the conclusion of the challenge!
