I’ve always been a denim girl but every now and then I love to don a pair of fun pants (see: eyelet, floral). I haven’t ever changed up the shape of these pants that often though until I saw these Ann Taylor ones. I spotted them on a couple of other girls and snapped them up when they went on sale to add a new silhouette to my regular wardrobe.
I will say I think this shape can be a bit tricky to style. You have to be sure to even out the volume in your lower half so I’d advise against pairing the pants with anything billowy or equally voluminous. I think if you’re taller you can manage to wear this silhouette with flats (so that’s why you see a lot styled that way on models!) but since I’m personally only 5’6″ I’ll stick with pairing them with heels.
The heels I chose were these favorite leather tie espadrilles I got last summer that were worth every penny because I love wearing them with pants like these, with boyfriend jeans or cropped jeans and with dresses and skirts. They are so my style that I’m thinking about the pretty blush pair, too to wear with lighter neutrals in the spring and summer.
