To say I’ve been living in this sweater would be an understatement (recently seen in this post also) so when I wore it in Montreal the other week and then happened upon a little shop that had the happiest hat I’ve ever seen, I instantly knew I’d be wearing the two together tout suite.
Of the many things I look forward to during Fall (+ attempt to accomplish), visiting Leroy Street is always one of them. The first two weeks in November the trees all turn the most beautiful golden color and transform the quaint street into something pretty spectacular. I used to work around the corner from this street so during this time of year I would always go a bit out of my way on the walk home so I could enjoy the view.
I don’t get over to the West Village as often as I used to when I was working in the neighborhood, so on this particular morning I made sure to hit up some old favorites like Prodigy Coffee (I also indulged in a piece of their heavenly banana bread), a walk down Bleecker Street and then grabbed a bite at Market Table whose ever-changing seasonal menu I always love.
Back to the hat for a moment…I’m not big on souvenirs generally when I travel but if I find a little memento that’s as practical as it is memorable, I’m all for it. I have a long history with hats (I wore them so much in 4th grade that when I moved to London my classmates were calling me ‘Blossom‘ – HA!) I didn’t think the pom-pom style was for me but then I got this one last year and never looked back because they just add such personality to a look. Don’t you agree!?
Nowadays there are so many cute hats out there – pom pom or not – so you can shop the best of the best below. And, in case you’re curious to take a walk down memory lane, see my shoots on Leroy Street from 2015 here and 2014 here! (My friend Blair also just shot here!)

Absolutely adore this look — the sweater, the boots, the bag! But I especially love the hat. I’ve been wanting a fur pom hat for a while, this definitely needs to be the winter I purchase! Also this is such a gorgeous spot — where in the city is it?
