Ann Taylor Audrey Pants I Two Pairs of Pants to Wear All Fall & Winter

While I’m lucky that I get to wear jeans often given my casual work environment, I always like to have power pants and go-to leggings on hand in my wardrobe for when the occasion calls.

Two Pairs of Pants to Wear All Fall & Winter

A good pair of black work pants can be hard to find in my opinion but Ann Taylor just introduced The Audrey Pant in both black and vino (a gorgeous burgundy shade) and they are the pant your work wardrobe needs. Made from a 4-way bi-stretch material, you can get a look that’s polished for your most important meetings. But they also happen to feel like wearing a legging (a major win in my book). I love the high waist on the pants and the little zipper detail at the bottom that sets them apart from a sea of black pants.

I styled the Audrey Pant with this versatile sweater that comes in four colors. And features the sweetest ruffle detail that makes it ideal for layering like I did here with this tweed jacket. You know I love a tweed jacket and this one’s color palette is Fall perfection.

I also love that the Audrey Pant is seemingly aptly named as it definitely gave me Aurdrey Hepburn vibes. Following my recent Breakfast at Tiffany’s shoot, I decided to style both pairs of little black pants in today’s post with my style icon in mind.

Next up, I’m sharing the updated version of Ann Taylor’s best-selling Luxewear Legging.

It now features a counter back seam for more support while you wear them. You know the episode of FRIENDS where Rachel declares the idea of “Apartment Pants”? Well, these Luxewear Leggings are my new apartment pants, travel pants and everyday wear pants. They are so comfortable and yet the right weight. So that you look + feel supported and put together when you wear them. Hear me when I say, not all leggings are created equal for wear outside of your own home!

I paired the Luxewear Leggings with a cozy neutral sweater that is so soft and has beautiful oversized sleeves that I just love and topped it with a classic trench in an ode to Audrey Hepburn. She often wore a thick legging, ballet flat and trench coat with neutral tops. So I love how this whole outfit harkens back to her timeless ensembles.

My Career Highlight

The other week I was reading a book that stated “Don’t ever confuse the two: your life and your work. The second is only a part of the first. You can’t be really first rate at your work if your work is all you are”. And I just loved the sentiment of this. For a lot of my career I thought what I did for work defined me. It pushed me because I wanted to impress others with what I did. But ever since I became self employed, I have to say that my career highlight is being my own boss so that I can better live my life to the fullest.

Since I now so enjoy what I do for my work, I’m able to further enjoy everything outside of my work, too. After three years of self-employment, I still feel gratitude for being able to be my own boss and I more deeply appreciate my life overall due to the happiness self employment has brought me. If you follow me on Instagram I am sharing in my latest feed photo this morning some thoughts on how I would update my resume if stats + facts weren’t all that we typically bulleted out. Share with me, too, won’t you?

I can’t wait for more Fall weather to arrive so I can begin wearing both of these pants around town more often. Which look is your favorite?

. . .

Look One: Ann Taylor Sweater (M – comes in 4 colors) // Tweed Fringe Jacket (Size 4) // The Audrey Pant (Size 6 and I had them hemmed to hit at the ankle – I am 5’5″ for reference) // Heels (sized half size down to 6.5 – I love these so much!)

Look Two: Ann Taylor Sweater (M – comes in 2 colors) // Trench Coat (S) // Luxewear Legging (M) // Flats (sized down half a size to 6.5- these are the perfect little flat!)

p.s. my early Fall picks and things I’ve bought & loved recently.

This post is in collaboration with Ann Taylor. Thank you so much for supporting the brands I love to work with! You can see our last collaboration here.

Love Ann Taylor for work. I have a black and white houndstooth dress I wear on repeat in the fall. I’m on a student budget so I try and shop their sales.

  2. Sylvia says:

Both of those pants look great. I have a black pair, but may look at the vino. I’m so with you on thinking not all leggings are good for leaving the house. I work in schools so our dress code is very casual but I still like to look pulled together.

  3. Lyss says:

Where is the watch you’re wearing in the first outfit from?!

  4. Cara says:

Love both these looks. And you are right- that tweed jacket is fall perfection. Thinking I may have to add that to my fall wardrobe 🙂 Also, where is that bag/purse from that you are carrying in the first look? I love it!

  5. Lisa says:

Love your styles! You are looking stunning with these outfits. I’m obsessed with those styles and can’t wait to try them.

I’ve been on the hunt for a great trench, thanks for finding it for me Meghan! 🙂
