Wedding Embellishments We Adore…and Might Actually Use Again!

July 22, 2009

Weddings are all about the details, details, details. From custom stirrers for your signature cocktail to personalized beverage napkins to monogrammed toilet paper (no joking) – your guests will be charmed that you spared no expense to make them happy.

Here are some non-traditional embellishments that have caught our eye lately.

First up, forget the round lanterns that you’re used to see at almost every wedding. These poms are the new ceiling candy. PomsThey’re less structured and more whimsical and come in so many different sizes, styles and colors.

Looking for something to adorn your catering, cake or gift tables? These Fiesta-inspired decorations called papel picados would make a merry addition to your wedding and you could re-use them at future house parties. PapelPicados

Finally, consider ditching the standard please sign here guest book and opt instead for this fun Polaroid guest book. You can designate someone to take Polaroids (plus people always look so much better in these) and then slip them in the preAlbumpared sleeves and leave a message. Adesso sells some basic ones, but we LOVE these albums by Etsy seller TheHandmadeBoutique. Her fabric selections are out of this world and prices are very reasonable.

Anyone reading this getting married soon? We’d love to hear some of the decoration alternatives that you have planned.

The Polaroid book is adorable! I’m getting married in September and instead of a traditional guest book, we’re having a photo booth (boardwalk style) that prints doubles so our guests get to keep 1 set and they take the other set and put it in a book where they get to decorate the page and leave us messages. I thought it was a fun spin on the traditional guest book and is something that I will definitely look at again and again.

What a GREAT idea Bianca! That is so adorable. I just went to a wedding with a photo booth and only got one print out and I totally thought to myself: it would be nice to share these with the bride and groom.! You solved the problem! Congrats on the upcoming nuptials – I’m getting married in Sept. too!
