I believe in trends. I believe in new fashions, new styles, new designers and new clothes! I do not, however, believe in all fashion myths or “rules” if you will.
I write this post as today is September 3rd and therefore, two days after Labor Day. And I am in white pants. The “no white” after labor day, for bottoms and shoes mainly, is not something I believe in because it’s just silly. Yes, white signals the start of warm weather for some, but frankly living in San Francisco my summer weather just started. And honestly, who dictated you couldn’t wear white after Labor Day? I think it was someone who must have had some ketchup disaster and made a declaration.
Anyhow, some rules are meant to be followed, but I think fashion is most interesting when you take risks and play up your style – how else are you to express yourself?
I know Stacy and Clinton from TLC’s What Not to Wear would agree 🙂
Love it and so very true!
