central park brunching

Lulu’s dress (last seen here), Gap jacket, Steve Madden sandals, Rebecca Minkoff MAC clutch, Ray Ban aviators, Toy Watch, Neckacles: Maya Brenner (c/o), Marc by Marc Jacobs, Tiffany & Co., Bracelets: Bauble Bar (c/o) Anthropologie, J.Crew, H&M, Ring: Jo

This past Saturday Taylor and I met up to do a picnic brunch in central park. We found a shady lawn, sprawled out and caught up. I confess that I’m quite sure central park is my happy place in new york…and having mimosas along for the morning doesn’t hurt either!

The outing also was an opportunity to wear this lovely state necklace by designer Maya Brenner. Her pieces are so beautiful and delicate and I love having a piece of my new home, New York to wear! Maya’s necklaces have many a celebrity fan, including Katy Perry, Lauren Conrad, Eva Longoria and Jessica Biel. She’s also now making ‘world’ necklaces and I think I need to buy an ‘M’ necklace next because I love how simple it is- exactly my kind of taste when it comes to jewelry.

made for summer

American Living for jcpenny top (c/0), H&M shorts (seen here), Madewell jacket, Enzo Angiolini (also seen here), Rebecca Minkoff clutch (last seen here), La Mer Collections watch, H&M cuff, Stella McCartney sunnies

I love finding unexpected style. This American Living ‘made for summer’  peasant top sent to me by jcpenny is a piece that can be styled umpteen ways and jcpenny asked ten bloggers to show how to do just that. I paired the denim top with new lace shorts that were a total bargain buy at H&M and a crisp, white jacket from Madewell.

To see how the other lovely bloggers styled theirs, check them out today!

packing list {cabo edition}

In less than a week I am off to Cabo San Lucas with my very best girlfriends from San Francisco.  Similar to Nantucket, I wanted to share some of the pieces that I’ll be taking with me on my trip.

  1. This fair-skinned girl needs shade from the sun and a little hat is the perfect way to do so. I plan on bringing two styles (hello, chronic over packer!) Including this one.
  2. Cabo is casual and I love it for it. A cross body shoulder bag is perfect for nights out.
  3. Wore these H&M lace shorts this week (seen here on Twitter) and I love their girly appeal.
  4. Flats, sandals, gladiators…oh my! I learned last year Cabo’s not for heels. I’m sticking to a carry on and just bringing lots of sandal options.
  5. Snapped this flowy Gap dress for $22 last weekend! Available here, but go to a store and get it 40% off!
  6. Lots of delicate and gold rings.
  7. I stocked up on bikinis in solid colors for the beach including this bright teal and this cool and smoky two piece.
  8. I most certainly cannot hit the beach without my trusty aviators.
  9. Finally, I’ll be bringing loads of accessories, mainly bracelets and chunky, colorful necklaces. Wish I had these Alex and Ani bangles to add to my arm as well!
