While I am certainly one to mix high and low pieces often, a lot of my wardrobe is also made up of under $200 staples that work hard for me every week. They are versatile and reliable and pieces that I always feel good when I put them on.

I really truly believe your closet should be full of pieces that make you get excited to dress up. And while I love investment pieces, I also understand everyone’s budget is different and believe there’s plenty of good wardrobe basics to be found under $200. This is, of course, becoming increasingly difficult given the rising costs seemingly of well, everything, but particularly in the retail industry. But I’ve refreshed the post for 2026 and I hope you’ll find it a helpful resource!

Wardrobe Favorites Under $200

Today, I’ve fully updated this post that rounds up all these wardrobe favorites under $200 in one post. It is freshly updated with newer purchases so if you’re looking for some affordable pieces to refresh your wardrobe as we head into a new season, this post should help.

I do my best to keep this post updated several times a year. (With seemingly everything getting more expensive these days I am always amazed to see pieces I’ve owned for several years go up astronomically in price when I go to re-link them years later!)

If an item isn’t linked it means it is either not under $200 or it is no longer available. And, if it is available it will be found in The Shop.

Hands down this J.Crew cashmere crewneck is one of my most worn pieces throughout the year. I wear it on in Fall and Winter and over my shoulders in Spring and Summer. I have the size L.

This chic linen top from Reformation. Wearing a M.

I also own the black in a large which is a bit roomier and I prefer that fit. 

An absolute classic – the J.Crew Rollneck sweater. Wearing a size M.

This midi linen dress. I own it in several colors/patterns. Wearing a 10.

This washable silk tank by M.M.LaFleur is such a favorite.

It travels well and is perfect for layering under my favorite little jackets and cardigans. I also own it in black.

I own this in a variety of colors now including the black sweater jacket and the navy blue crochet style.

This Madewell woven tote.

These Reformation jeans.

I find the denim at this brand to run quite small and sized up twice to a 29 to get a fit that I could handle.

They are one of My Favorite and Most-Worn Jeans.

My go to one piece swimsuit. Size 8.

This swimsuit is another favorite under $200. Size up!

This AYR button down. Wearing a M. Such a workhorse in my wardrobe.

And the best knit trousers by AYR. I love these for traveling in. Wearing a size L.

My favorite date night silk camisole. Wearing an 8.

These trousers I’ve been wearing in cream and in black for years now. Size 8.

This half zip I love traveling in. Size M.

These espadrilles. Summer favorites for years and years. I own both black and beige.

The Sezane Will Jacket which is the perfect lightweight, casual layer.

Wearing a S but I’d do a M for a bit more room. This comes in a variety of colors and fabrics from which you can choose.

These camel trousers (size 8). I also own them in Black. They are so great.

The Levi’s Wedgie Straight Jeans. Wearing a size 28. I’d recommend sizing up if in between sizes.

A favorite Fall accessory. Available in a variety of colors.

I love it as a cover up (size L but you could take TTS) and styled with these great pull on linen pants (size M).
