Happy Monday you guys! How are you? I’m starting the week out on a colorful note with today’s outfit but also a happier note as I spent most of the weekend restoring my mental state through self care and time offline. My weekend included donuts and a massage and in 2020 I don’t think it gets much better than that!
A Comfy, Colorful Linen Jumpsuit
This weekend I also gave myself some pep talks about grace. It started last week actually as – as you guys know already – I was just feeling such severe effects from burnout. I decided to extend myself some grace and allow myself to slow down a bit. When I didn’t feel up for the task of finishing a post for last Thursday after a busy Wednesday, I decided it could wait. A week here or there throughout the year where I don’t do five posts a week is OK. I have to remind myself of these things though otherwise I feel guilt or disappointment with myself.
Keeping myself busy has been the #1 saving grace of getting through each day of quarantine and largely most of 2020 at this point. But this weekend was a reminder that slowing down is just as productive, too. I’ve been going a million miles a minute lately and I think the burn out and finally, truly set in. Moving forward I need to be better about scheduling “off” time and I’m counting down the days to Labor Day week which I plan to take off (as much as someone who is self employed can!)
