If I had to select one fashion brand that has played a part in the most chapters of my life, it would without a doubt be J.Crew. 

The way I would worship my time when the catalog came in the mail when I was in middle school and high school…curling up to study the pages. I would fold down so many corners of so many pages imagining what I would look like on the first day of school if I could show up in everything I wanted from the brand.I still remember saving up for the perfect ivory cable knit sweater when I was in eighth grade. And I remember begging my parents for the leather clogs I would wear till they no longer fit. 

It was the place I spent my hard earned money from my stationery shop job in high school. J.Crew was where I bought my first suit for college internship interviews. It has outfitted me for so many trips and occasions and special moments over the past several decades.

And it remains one of the brands I regularly turn to for style inspiration and to add to my closet with timeless yet on-trend pieces each season. It’s a dream for me today to be working with the brand for the first time and during my favorite season, no less. 

Fall Outfit Inspiration with J.Crew

With the arrival of September, cooler weather and so many fun occasions on the calendar to look forward to, I styled three looks and put together a variety of other looks to inspire you as you get dressed in J.Crew this season. My first look features the trousers I’ve gone on and on about for nearly a year. They are my favorite trousers and look good with so many types of shoes. They are the pants I always choose to travel to Paris in so I can arrive looking put together when my hotel room isn’t yet ready. I wear these trousers in an 8 and got a second pair to have as a backup – yep, they are that good! They’ve also been a bestseller with this community for several months running. For this look, I topped them off with this beautiful suede belt. 

In this outfit, I paired the trousers with this short sleeve knit that’s the perfect layering piece for year round wear. I sized up to a Large in it.

I topped it with this boucle cardigan take on the brand’s iconic Lady Jackets. I love the gold buttons and that you can wear it styled open or closed. The weight of this cardigan is great and could be worn over your black spring and summer dresses as well. I’m wearing it in a Large. (I almost always size up in the brand’s Lady Jackets).

For my second look I channeled the effortless feminine chic Parisian girl style I love so much. I paired this knit textured cardigan (size Large) with a pair of slim boyfriend jeans (sized down to a 27) that hit right at the perfect spot on my ankle.I also wore this pair in Paris with ballet flats and think they’d be great for a kitten heel or mule as well.

I am so glad that Mary Janes are back in this season and love J.Crew’s classic take on the Mary Jane heel. You can wear these with dresses this Fall but I love the juxtaposition of them paired with a good pair of lived-in looking denim.

Last but not least – how could I resist this oh-so-fun sequin fringe number!? It makes me want to head to the coolest cocktail bar and end the night dancing with girlfriends – champagne in hand. Which is exactly the type of energy I want to bring into the new season to be honest!!

Or it makes me want to transport myself straight to 1920s Paris. Very Midnight in Paris, non? I sized up in this dress to an 8 as it is rather figure-hugging. 

This season’s bags from J.Crew are so, so good and I added the Berkeley tote in leather and suede to my bag collection. The perfect carry-all for laptop days and it accompanied me on my most recent trip to Paris as my carry on. I love the interior pocket, the fact that it fits plenty and that you have suede on one side and leather on the other.

And for nights out or fun cafe dates with your best gals? The Berkeley shoulder bag is just beautiful. They each come in other color selections as well.
