Ann Taylor Casual Blazer I wit & whimsy | Stay Home Fall Bucket List

I had so much fun creating & then participating in my Stay Home Summer Bucket List with you guys that I’m bringing it back for the new Fall season! As you all know, Fall is my absolute favorite season and while there are certain things I always want to do every Fall, I also thought a lot about some new things to do this season as we all stay close to home and practice safe activities.

Stay Home Fall Bucket List

Today’s post is in collaboration with one of my go-to brands for affordable, feminine basics, Ann Taylor and I hope you enjoy the pieces I share here! Before we get to the bucket list, I want to touch on these pieces and their newest arrivals I am eyeing!

The first look is all about these amazing elastic waist (!!!) suede pants that have WFH in Fall written all over them. After I shot them I stayed in them working at home all day – they are so comfy! I love that post-pandemic you could also pair them with a heel to dress them up. And I chose a fun mule but I also love how the brand styled them with a sneaker on the website. I topped the pants with this puff sleeve tee that may look familiar as I own it in red and wore it here! It also comes in a gorgeous Burgundy color that I think would layer so beautifully under Fall cardigans.

The second look is just my style in a nutshell isn’t it? I love this Long Double Breasted blazer! It’s hard to see in photos but the fabric is ribbed which makes it more casual than a blazer shape typically suggests which I love given how my style has adapted this year. And the fit is just so good. I’ve said it many times but Ann Taylor just does such good jackets. Underneath the blazer is this versatile puff sleeve top which you know I love.

I’d love to hear which look is your favorite! And I’ve included even more good Ann Taylor new arrivals for the months head below!

Now onto this season’s bucket list…

Stay Home Fall Bucket List 2020:

Decorate your home with seasonal touches.

Crate & Barrel and Williams Sonoma have so much good Fall decor that I am eyeing! And so does Amazon.  I spotted this cute doormat, this faux bouquet, these decorative pumpkins and pine cones, this darling banner, this buffalo plaid throw, this pumpkin serving bowl and this Fall wreath.

Try a new pumpkin recipe.

Of course we all love our old standbys but let’s try and experiment in the baking department a bit this season!

Accomplish a home project.

No better time to invest in your space. Want some affordable decor to update your home? Look no further.

Try takeout from two new restaurants.

You may find a new favorite!

Have a caramel apple.

A delicious pastime. The ones from Whole Foods are my favorite.

Go apple picking.

You know this is one of my very favorite Fall traditions!

Make apple crisp.

I make Ina Garten’s Apple Crisp every year and it never gets old. The topping on it is addicting!

Test out a new hobby.

Check out a course on Skillshare where you’ll be inspired to try a new hobby. I am so glad I started doing a bit of French every day for the past few months. It’s been a nice little hobby to practice lately and a good challenge for my brain!

Tackle something pesky on your to do list.

We all have those things that hang over our heads. A new season is the perfect motivator to get it done.

Conduct some arm chair travel.

Just because we can’t travel much this year doesn’t mean we can’t virtually visit spots. Watch a new travel documentary or explore Pinterest or start planning for a trip you’ll take as soon as you are able!

Watch a classic movie.

I love the nostalgia that comes along with the Fall season so I always watch favorite classic movies like When Harry Met Sally and You’ve Got Mail this time of year.

Go on a hike.

Live near a good hiking spot? Head for fresh air and try a new path.

Make like a kid and jump in a leaf pile.

Why not!

Buy a friend a coffee.

I love sending friends $5 or $10 to treat themselves to a coffee or pastry. Venmo a pick me up to a friend today!

Go on a long morning walk.

There’s nothing quite as magical as a crisp Fall morning out in the quiet air.

Buy a new mask that goes with your Fall wardrobe.

Because they’re not going away anytime soon we may as well have fun with them! You can now score 15% off one of my favorite masks with code MEGHAN15. I have this silk mask in both blush and black.

Attempt to make a pie.

I have officially purchased a pie pan and am going to tackle this for the first time. Wish me luck! Who wants to join me!?

Make a harvest-inspired meal.

Head to the farmer’s market to see what’s in season and then cook a dinner totally inspired by Fall’s harvest.

Make chili.

Nothing like a bowl of chili filled to the brim with toppings on a cooler evening. Have a favorite chili recipe? I’d love to make it! Leave it below in the comments.

Burn a Fall candle.

This is one of my favorites.

Drink apple cider.

I love this hot or cold this time of year!

Get some new comfy, cozy socks.

I am eying this pair and this pair.

Eat candy corn.

Go on, get a toothache. It’s worth it.

Buy pumpkins.

Because of course!

Buy Fall produce from the farmer’s market.

Get inspired at your local farm stand.

Make a Fall inspired bouquet.

I love a Fall bouquet bursting with color. Order one online or visit your local florist.

Do a random act of kindness.

Because we can never do enough.

Buy some new sweaters.

The perfect pick me up this time of year. My favorites can be found here.

Eat apple cider donuts.

A favorite Fall treat.

Have a Fall picnic.

On a warmer Fall day head to the park and have a Fall-inspired picnic! We’ve got to enjoy the great outdoors as much as we can while we can!

Practice gratitude.

It’s one of the most comforting things to do right now.

Make a Fall inspired cocktail.

I want to try and find a Calvados cocktail! It’s apple brandy from Normandy in France and so delicious.

Send some snail mail.

Might I suggest doing so on my custom stationery?

Order new cozy pajamas.

I recommend this pair and this pair that I own and love! (Size M in both). And I just ordered this pair!

. . .

I’ve included a fun graphic below of the bucket list if you want to pin it or screenshot it and then share what activities you get after on Stories! I’ll be re-posting those that share their #StayHomeFallBucketList participation!

  4. Love this whole list, but especially practicing gratitude! A little goes a long way!!

  5. BAO says:

Love this! It inspired me to Venmo a friend for a coffee. I swapped out my hand soap for Mrs. Meyer’s Apple Cider scent. Makes me so happy. In same idea of pie pan, I recently bought a tart pan. I attempted Giada’s green onion and pancetta tart and it was outstanding and so fun and easy to make. Gave me such a sense of accomplishment. This weekend I’m trying Ina’s plum brown sugar and walnut tart. Fingers crossed! I made this recipe today in crockpot. It’s foolproof and only 3 ingredients. The house smelled like Thanksgiving. It’s all about creating things that bring us happiness.
