I love the versatility of button down shirts and don’t want to lose that when summer comes – so, enter the linen button down.
Styling a Linen Button Down
This J.Crew linen button down is the perfect weight for wear all summer. And the styling possibilities are endless. So much so that I decided to do a reel featuring 4 ways I wear mine! You can wear it as a cover up over a swimsuit, open over workout clothes, topping a dress, with a midi skirt, with jeans and espadrilles or in a casual, classic summer outfit like I’m wearing here today. Get creative and perhaps try something out of your comfort zone!
I bought these mesh Converse sneakers the moment I saw them on Net a Porter. I don’t wear my classic Converse nearly as much as my Common Projects because of their primary colors that often don’t match with my neutral wardrobe. With their neutral piping and mesh fabric this pair will go with everything in my summer wardrobe and I just love how the mesh fabric gives them a true summer-y feel.
A note on sizing: I initially bought the size 5 (I wear a size 7 usually) but exchanged them for a 4.5 which fit much better. Depending on the brand I can be either a 6.5 or a 7.
I’ll no-doubt be wearing this outfit so much this summer – including this weekend when I head upstate for the holiday! These shorts will absolutely be in my suitcase. I tried SO many pairs of denim shorts before getting these and loving them.
I wear this brand of denim a lot but a lot of their shorts weren’t right for me. This Parker style is a bit longer which I love. I often size down in Agolde but for this pair I wanted a not-too-tight fit so am wearing a size 28.

Just grabbed this shirt, and a striped shirt sleeve version. Love the look of it with the shorts, and how it can transition to later in the year.
Love the idea of a striped version!
