As I continue to look back on 2022 this week, I am looking forward today to sharing with you some of my favorite purchases of the entire year. It’s always an endeavor to look back at what I purchased, where I invested and what brands I came back to time and time again. In 2022 I really prioritized investment purchases that I would wear again and again and use again and again. It is safe to say you will no doubt be seeing all these pieces repeatedly this year.
So in the latest installment of Things I’ve Bought and Loved Recently, I present to you my favorite 2022 purchases.
Things I Bought and Loved – 2022 Edition
1. La Ligne Dress
This dress was a major investment but man, did it make me feel like a million bucks when I wore it in Paris and then all summer long as I reached for it again and again. It’s pricey but man is it beautiful. I love this brand’s sweaters but now I fear I have fallen for their dresses, too. I got it in a size Large and if they bring it back in white this year, I’m buying it no doubt.
2. AGolde Riley Cropped Jeans
I have this pair of jeans in a classic blue wash and when I spotted this darker wash I just knew they’d get a lot of wear, too and both pair were in heavy rotation in 2022. I bought them in a TTS size 28 and absolutely love them. See the darker wash on here.
3. Bash Paris Black Jacket*
One of my most worn pieces of 2022 hands down. This little jacket looks so cute with jeans, trousers and I also topped a lot of dresses with it. See it on here. Wearing a 2.
4. J.Crew Cashmere Tee*
I love a cashmere tee as a layering piece.. This one comes in a variety of pretty colors and it was a go-to layering piece for me all year long – particularly under my collection of blazers and little jackets.
5. Celine Teen Triomphe Bag
My most worn bag of 2022 – and I didn’t even get it until September! When I was in Italy the currency exchange was so, so good and so I ended up saving over 4 figures on this bag by buying it then and there. I had wanted this bag for years and years and I bought it as a celebration of hitting a major work goal I had been working towards for years.
6. Chanel Flat Slingbacks
These were probably my only designer impulse purchase ever made. But when I saw them during my March 2022 trip to Paris I decided to get them given how much I wear my Chanel slingback heels. See them on here.
7. Cuyana Easy Tote
Cuyana totes have been my go-to work and carry on bags since 2014 and now they have a gorgeous new design. I got the Cappuccino color and have been so happy with it. I love the double strap feature in particular.
8. J.Crew Trousers*
I loved mixing up my usual wardrobe of jeans with trousers last year and one of the best pairs I found was from J.Crew. I wore them to travel and the crepe fabric held up well. Even better? When I washed them they came out looking brand new! A true miracle. I wear them in a size 8. Seen on here.
9. M.M.LaFleur O’Hara Blazer*
To know my style is to know I love a good blazer and this one by M.M.LaFleur is so good I wrote a whole post about it and proceeded to include it in my M.M.LaFleur Fall Capsule!
10. Naked Cashmere Kaia Sweater
This was a new to me brand that I discovered when a catalog ended up in my mail early in 2022 and now I’m a convert. This sweater has a great casual fit to it and is warm but also thin enough to layer under coats. If you’ve been happy investing in Jenni Kayne sweaters at my recommendation, you’ll like this brand, too.
11. Black Converse Sneakers
I finally got over my fear of not feeling like I could pull these off and bought the perfect cool girl, casual sneakers for daytime outings. They got a lot of wear! See them on here and here. The perfect Fall/Winter sneaker and a nice break from my favorite white sneakers.
12. Vuori Clean Elevation Leggings*
I added a variety of new pieces to my Vuori collection this year but these leggings were the winner for sure. They are *so* soft. And I love the fit on them. The perfect legging for cooler weather. I have the size M.
13. Celine Triomphe Belt
I treated myself to this belt on my March trip to Paris. I love how it elevates any simple outfit of trousers or jeans and knits. See it on here.
14. Inez Mila Boot*
These boots really filled a need in my closet and they ended up getting so much wear after I got them as a part of this fun collaboration. This brand makes such comfortable shoes and I heard time and time again in 2022 about how happy you all were when you invested in a pair.
1. Jenni Kayne Rhode Dress
My most worn dress of 2022. This one fits me like a dream (size M) and I will be buying it in white the minute they restock it for Spring/Summer this year.
2. Sezane Sweater Jacket
One of my bestsellers of last year – you guys agree it is *that* good. See it on here in the Ivory which I bought first only to be followed up with a purchase of the Navy as well. Wearing a size L.
3. LaLigne Jack Sweater
This year I continued my love of LaLigne knit sweaters and a favorite purchased was the Jack sweater. The camel/navy colorway had my name all over it. See it on here.
4. Lululemon Classic Fit Tee
My go-to tee for workouts. I wear an 8 and amassed more than 4 in a variety of colors in 2022.
5. Senreve Aria Belt Bag*
My go-to casual crossbody bag. It fits a surprising amount of things and is the perfect weekend errand bag. I love that you can also wear it two other ways as well. It comes in loads of colors as well.
6. Loewe Straw & Leather Tote
I finally bit the bullet on this bag that I had bee eyeing for some time before I left for Paris in April of last year. The petite size is perfect and I absolutely love that the handles are adjustable so you can change the length of the strap! It got so much wear all Spring and Summer. See it in action here.
7. MM.LaFleur Edith Dress*
I was so excited to work with M.M.LaFleur in Paris in the Spring and as part of it I got to wear and shoot their gorgeous Edith Dress which is true pleated perfection. It will make you feel like a million bucks – trust. (Despite the fact that when it first arrived I looked at it and thought there is no way this will work on me…!) I have it in a M.
8. Jenni Kayne Boyfriend Shirt
This easy, tomboy inspired style is the perfect throw on and go style all year round and I wore it so, so much after purchasing it. I sized down to a size Small. It’s great layered under sweaters in particular as seen here.
9. Truffle Clarity Cases
This year I added to my Truffle travel case collection with this one and this one that have come in so handy for all of my 2022 travels.
10. Nike Daybreak Sneakers
I saw these on a girl in my neighborhood one day and I went home and promptly ordered them. They are so comfy and the perfect mix of neutrals to go with my entire wardrobe. I wear a size 6.5 in Nikes vs. my usual 7.
11. Freda Salvador Brooke Boot
I had been eyeing these boots for years and finally scored them during one of Shopbop’s sales. I couldn’t believe how lightweight they were when they came! It makes them ideal for travel and truly so good for Fall and Winter given the suede is water resistant. See them on here. Code WITWHIMSY10 will get you 10% off your first purchase.
and a few more items that I also loved…
Yummie Shaping Thong
Well this thong is just incredible. Holds in your midsection and smooths everything out! Truly brilliant for under skirts and dresses. May need to buy a few more, stat to be honest.
Sezane Mederick Coat
This coat fits so beautifully and I love that it elevates any outfit. I got it in the Navy in the Fall but the camel is also gorgeous. I wear the size 6.
Sezane Lace Blouse
Easily one of my most worn items of 2022. It is a go-to for date nights and I think just so flattering on and I love that a tank underneath isn’t required. I sized up to an 8. See it on here.
Saatva Luxury Firm Classic Mattress*
Wow, wow, wow this mattress. I thought I liked the mattress I had before I got this one but I was wrong because I have never slept as well at home as I have since getting this mattress.
Samsung Frame TV
I love this as a smart TV but also how it blends into my built-ins thanks to the art which I enjoy rotating. Absolutely worth it.
Peloton Bike
I really wanted a way to incorporate cardio into my routine at home this year so I finally bit the bullet and ordered a Peloton after much encouragement from this community. I have absolutely loved clipping in whenever I need stress relief or as an invigorating way to start my day.
Zara Striped Sweater
Every now and then I find a great, great gem at Zara and this sweater was *it* in 2022. So soft, such a good silhouette and great on its own or layered. I sized down to a Small.
. . .
There you have it! As always, you’ll see I prioritize investing in quality over quantity and regularly come back to the same brands I love and trust for quality pieces. I hope this inspires you as you make purchases throughout the year.

I’ve been eyeing that long Sezane coat in the dusty blue color. Loving this roundup. That La Ligne dress is a beauty, never tried their stuff before!

The light blue would be so pretty with your brunette hair!!
I’ve been thinking about purchasing that Cuyana bag with a gift card I’ve had for a while and your endorsement is really helpful seal the deal for me!
You will love it! let me know what color you end up getting!
I love the Bash Paris Jacket and I would like to buy one but after looking at the sizes that they offer, it would be too small. I’m between a size 10-12, can you recommend another one similar to this that has larger sizing? Thank you.
Ugh yeah Bash is really hard with their sizing. I tried on a cardigan in Paris last month that was too small and it was their biggest size (!!) I’d try looking at Mango! This link is to their jackets and I spotted a few similar styles: https://rstyle.me/+Vocb9V_6uGg-lL1rPSgXUA
Hello! Would love to try out the Agolde jeans. The link for the header and the first link for the classic blue wash jeans link are not working for me, and I would like for you to get the commission. Love shopping your fantastic selection.
Thank you for letting me know! Just updated the links! Sorry about that.
