It’s hard to believe May is around the corner – and with it, Mother’s Day on May 9th. I’m keeping this year’s Mother’s Day Gift Guide super simple this year with a few thoughtful, impactful ideas for the mom and mother figures in your life. And if this is a hard holiday for you – I see you. I know it can be a rough day for so many without their moms, trying to be moms, mourning moms – I see you and am sending you all a hug.

If your mom is like mine, she doesn’t want anything except love and a phone call. But that doesn’t stop myself or my siblings from wanting to show her appreciation each May.

Mother’s Day 2021 Gift Ideas:

Flowers. Tried and true and a personal favorite gift of my own mom. I use UrbanStems when ordering flowers. You can use code WITWHIMSY20 for 20% off your order! Their Mother’s Day bouquets are so strikingly beautiful and are sure to make your momma happy for long after 5/9.

Equilibria CBD Subscription.  Give the gift of calm with a subscription to my favorite CBD brand. It’ll give mom a sense of calm and some R&R! And better yet? Starting today for a limited time, Equilibria is offering 30% off your first month of any subscription. With my code, witwhimsy, new customers can receive an additional 15% off. All first time subscribers will receive their products packaged in a luxe black satin bag, too so it makes a great gift that Mom can get each month & cancel at any time. Read more about why a CBD subscription has great benefits.

Masterclass Membership. Does your mom love to be a student? Get her a membership to Masterclass where she can enjoy classes on everything from wine tasting to photography. I love my Masterclass membership!

Book of the Month. Nothing like the gift of reading and Book of the Month is a gift regularly given by me. A three month subscription is such a good gift to look forward to weeks after Mother’s Day has passed.

Homesick Candles. These candles are a favorite gift of mine to give. When a couple moves in together I get one for each from their home state. Treat your mom to the fragrance of her favorite place to vacation or the scent of the places where her children live.

Eye Mask. Because pretty much everyone I know right now could use a bit better sleep, treat your mom to this luxe eye mask for more Zzzs.

A New Robe. Nothing better than a good quality, fluffy + soft robe to put on when getting out of the shower. I have this one and can’t recommend it enough.

Water Bottle. My mom recently asked for a water bottle knowing I get a lot in various mailings. I have one waiting to ship her and it is very similar to this beautiful one. Perfect to have by your side when reading or working out.

Glass Food Containers. If your mom is like mine, her Tupperware could use an upgrade. These glass containers are my very favorite and are perfect for meal prep and leftovers. Dishwasher and microwave safe to boot!

Le Creuset. Does your mom love to cook? Why not surprise her with a beautiful piece of new cookwear? I think this brand makes such a great luxe gift.

Sarah Flint Scarf. This silk scarf by Sarah Flint is the prettiest accessory. I wore it in Paris here and think it would make the loveliest gift.

Taschen’s Book of Flowers. This book looks gorgeous and is perfect for the mother who loves flowers.

Room Spray. A thoughtful and useful gift all in one. Try a room spray like this one from NEST for the mothers who love a tidy + fresh feeling home at all times. During quarantine I have a new found love for my room spray.

Comfy Slippers. A new pair of slippers always feels like such a treat. This pair looks extra cozy and yet stylish.

Framed Print. Submit a photo to Simply Framed’s Print + Frame service and give a special and personalized gift that mom is sure to love.

BBC Gardener’s World Magazine. My mom happened to call me when I was writing this post and recommended I include her favorite magazine so here we are! BBC Gardener’s World offers loads of transportive images and helpful tips if your mom is into gardening as mine is.

. . .

How are you treating your mom this Mother’s Day?

p.s. home favorites from Amazon and small businesses I love supporting.

Those are some great ideas. I decided to get two small trinkets. Mainly because I could order them from a local store that sells items by local artisans. I know that so many stores and artisans are struggling, and I wanted to do something to support them.

I’ve been finding nature-related magazine subscriptions are a great gift for my homebody mom – there are so many great ones out there! I also have to recommend what was probably my most successful Christmas gift to her in years: A Garden Miscellany: An Illustrated Guide to the Elements of the Garden by Suzanne Staubach. It is a genuinely lovely book! (And, if ordering any books at all, please consider using bookshop.org to support local indie bookstores instead of Almighty Amazon ;). )

I just learned about that site this week – appreciate you sharing it and also the recommendation that will most likely be under the Christmas tree for my mom 🙂

Love the BBC gardening magazine suggestion. My Mom is a big gardener and lived in the UK for 8 years.

Thank you for the post, I gifted two items based on your recommendations. I was not aware of UrbanStems, and am so glad to have a new, fresh option for floral gifts. Thanks Meghan.
