The time for transitional dressing from summer into fall has to be one of my favorite times of the year to get dressed. Because of this I was excited to partner with Zappos x Lucky Brand to share two transitional outfits that will take you from the warmer summer days into fall weather.

Every year at the end of August I love pulling out booties to pair with skirts and dresses and unearthing my favorite utility jacket to start light layering. I begin plotting my full Fall wardrobe (picking up key pieces as needed) in such an eager manner because it feels as though I’ve exhausted my summer heatwave standbys. At this point in the year I really, truly miss lightweight sweaters, closed toe shoes and silk!

I have been really into wedges recently (is this a sign of me getting old? HA!) but didn’t own a pair of wedged booties yet so these Lucky Brand ones jumped to the top of my list. I love the little bow in the back and the fact that the style comes in five colors! This sand color was my favorite though as I love how it pairs with denim. They are also really comfortable making them prime for a day spent exploring new spots near my apartment like Cha Cha Matcha.

Cha Cha was my first experience with Matcha and it was…interesting. I had a matcha latte with coconut milk and it’s said to have more caffeine than an espresso but if we’re being honest I’ll most likely only ever be back for the cute digs. I mean how cute is all the pink and green!? (I also ran into a reader while shooting these photos which was such fun – made my whole day! :)) In the interim I plan to stick to my cold brew addiction…

And these flats may as well be slippers they are so comfortable! Best part? They have the illusion of a lace up flat but are actually slip ons. GENIUS! Means they are perfect for traveling (read: getting through security) and even better to explore a new place by foot (my preferred method when seeing a new city.) Paired with a midi dress, the combo is perfect for cooler temps. (These, too, come in multiple colors!)
