By now you know I really believe in building a wardrobe of staples that you can mix and match for a stylish yet versatile wardrobe.
If you’re on a budget for building out your wardrobe staples, Amazon Fashion can be a great resource. I scoured what they had and pulled together a variety of basics that’ll be versatile and rather timeless. Several of which I own myself! I hope you’ll find this list handy.
Wardrobe Staples from Amazon Fashion
1. Oversized, Long Blazer
A good blazer makes me instantly feel put together. I love an oversized black blazer in particular. It’s perfect paired with jeans and sneakers or you can dress it up with leather pants and a silk camisole. I own this one in two colors and think it is great for the price point. You can see it on me HERE.
2. Yummie Bodysuit
A good bodysuit is such a good wardrobe building block. I usually size up in them as I want them to be less fitted and wear more like a good tee. I love the shaping capabilities they have and how well blazers and cardigans layer over them.
3. Navy Blazer
This blazer has the perfect amount of prep. Pair it with a solid layering tee or with a striped tee for added Parisian flair. And at under $100, you can’t beat the price point.
4. Ribbed Crewneck Sweater
I love a ribbed knit. It feels luxurious and the texture adds good visual interest to an otherwise simple outfit when paired with jeans and a casual shoe. I also love how a ribbed knit looks under winter coats, in particular.
5. Poplin Button Down
An oversized button down like this is perfect for layering under sweaters or blazers.
6. Loafer
A classic loafer is timeless and such a nice way to add a polished look to a variety of outfits. See these on me here. They are comfy and come in lots of colors!
7. Sleek Sunglasses
A good pair of sunglasses is always a finishing touch to my outfits. This pair looks designer but is only $60. They’ve been a favorite of mine for several years running.
8. Heeled Boot
I wear my heeled booties all Fall and Winter. A sleek pair like this are particularly great when worn with skirts or dresses but I’ve also worn my similar pair with leather pants and straight leg jeans. For a knee high style, I like this pair by the same brand.
9. Neutral Slingbacks
A good pair of neutral heels is a staple for nights where we’re doing a dressier look. This pair looks designer but is under $150.
10. Gorjana Earrings
Gorjana makes some of my favorite affordable jewelry that I own. These crystal studded huggie earrings are perfect for nights out or everyday wear.
11. Slip Skirt
I love how easy a slip skirt is to throw on and dress up or dress down. I own this in the Black and Silver Cloud shades in a size M.
12. Layering Tee
A good t-shirt for layering is essential and this one, by a brand I regularly shop at, looks like a good staple to add to your regularly worn pieces. I find the brand runs TTS but I tend to size up in t-shirts no matter the brand.
13. Levi’s Wedgie Jeans
These jeans are a great basic pair that can be easily dressed up or dressed down. They check a lot of boxes for what I want out of my jeans…high rise, snug through the hip and thigh, hidden button fly and a slightly tapered leg. Pair them with sneakers, with mules, with ballet flats or with sock boots.
I have and love this pair. I wear a size 28 in Levi’s. The 501 Crops are also good.
14. Veja Esplar Sneakers
This style of Vejas are seen all over the streets of Paris and New York City for good reason. They’re sleek and understated and therefore versatile. I own them and while not as comfortable as my favorite Common Project sneakers, the Veja price point is a lot more reasonable. I love the subtle logo on the pair shown here but if you prefer color, they have plenty of options.
15. Classic Crewneck
A simple crewneck sweater will never go out of style. This one is a good quality for the price and I love that it comes in so many color options. I recommend sizing up on this style if you prefer a looser fit. I have it in the Beige color.
