The other day I heard the term “comfort season” and thought it perfectly described all the reasons I love this time of year. I had a weekend full of comfort season moments and I so enjoyed soaking up some of my favorite Fall traditions.
Friday I spent out at Carly’s in New Jersey – we went apple picking, ate burgers and fries for lunch at a cozy restaurant, drank cider and then made a feast of butternut squash alla vodka pasta and apple crisp. It was such a great way to start the weekend. Saturday I came back to the city, had a coffee catch up at The Elk (from my West Village guide), wandered the neighborhood snapping photos of all the decorations and then took a ghost tour with my brother and his girlfriend. We had cocktails before and then ate so much good Thai food after. Sunday was more apple picking with friends and then a cozy night at home catching up on work and making a dinner of pork chops and apples with a cream sauce and wild rice. I took time to light all my favorite Fall candles (listed here) and tidy my place for the week ahead. The weather was absolutely amazing this weekend and all the Fall fun had me reveling in Comfort Season.
This White & Warren cashmere sweater is the ultimate comfort season sweater if you ask me. I love the unique color so much as it is such a good depiction of the foliage this time of year. The brand is an investment but the cashmere quality is so excellent and I love how many good staple pieces thay make to keep you cozy all season long. Paired with a new favorite plaid blazer, this outfit is all about Fall colors.
I hope you had a wonderful comfort season weekend, too!

Love this outfit and I’m so ready for fall! Pinning those recipes for the coming weeks when it finally cools down in TX! Have a great Monday!
Yay! Can’t wait for you to try them!
This describes the cooler months perfectly. You just want to be cozy and comfy in sweaters, and drink warm things, and bake! I love it! I have all the ingredients to make some GF pumpkin bread, and think I will have myself a cozy day this weekend, and do it! I hope you had a great start to your monday, Meghan! Happy comfy season 🙂
