Everlane Boots and Blazers I My Top Purchases of 2019

We’ve come to my final post reflecting on 2019 and it was actually a reader request. You guys all loved throughout last year my Things I’ve Bought & Loved series so think of today’s post as the creme de la creme of those purchases. Aka: the things I loved the most.

My Top Purchases of 2019:

Delicate Earrings:

The prettiest studs and under $50. By the same brand, I also bought and adore these Art Deco Earrings.

Ray Ban Sunglasses:

Seen here and here. Set yourself apart from the Clubmaster crowd.

Amazon Umbrella:

I am extremely picky about umbrellas – wanting them to be very easy to open and close. This one fit my criteria and it has served me incredibly well.

Wayf Lace Top:

A bestseller of 2019 with you guys and a personal favorite! I love it so much I wore it to my reader meetup last September. Love that they have new colors this year, too! This similar one is gorgeous, too.

Year and Day Bowls.

My friend introduced me to this dishware brand and I since I make so many grain bowls at home, I just bought these “big bowls” in the Daybreak blush pink color and I love them so much! They make me happy to use. I was thrilled when my brother & SIL got me plates for Christmas from the brand as well.

Golden Goose Sneakers:

The perfect sneaker to add a sporty touch to any outfit. I’ve worn them here, here & here.

Commando Control Briefs:

These were the greatest purchase because they suck everything in and smooth everything under your favorite summer dresses.

Everlane Cashmere Tee*.

A short sleeve sweater is one of my favorite transitional pieces and I love how it pairs with pants and midi skirts. The new Everlane Cashmere “tee” just arrived and I absolutely love it. It comes in 4 colors but I got it in black for versatility. I’ll be shooting it soon but you may want to consider sizing up from your usual size unless you want it to be a bit more fitted.

J.Crew Silk Slip Skirt.

I have bought + returned so many silk skirts in the last year. Low and behold I finally found the (affordable) winner at J.Crew of all places.  I sized down to a small and bought it in black. I styled it two ways here.

Marc Fisher Boots:

Probably one of my top five purchases of 2019. I always struggled when snowy weather hit and I had to have meetings and look presentable in practical footwear. These solved my problem and have two previous seasons trying to get them before they sold out, I was so happy I bought them when they were restocked in the summer. I already want the tan version. They are also so comfortable and so warm.  See them on here.

Espadrilles:

I wore these so much last year with both jeans and dresses. They are SO comfortable and I love how feminine they are. Seen here, here and here.

L’Space Swimsuit:

A super flattering bikini that was featured in one of my most popular Instagrams of 2019. I wore a Large in the top and Medium in the bottoms.

Sam Edelman Rain Boots:

I finally found non-ugly rain boots at the end of last year. These are crazy affordable and chic while being practical, too.

Otherland Cardamom Milk Candle:

Obsessed doesn’t even cover how I feel about this candle. It smells like a Danish bakery from when I went to Copenhagen and gives my apartment the coziest most delicious scent.

Top Tote Hat Clip:

File under genius ideas. I used this to/from Australia and Colorado and it was the solution to not hating traveling with a hat. I got stopped at the airport multiple times by people needing to know where this was from!

Weighted Eye Mask:

I have heard great things about weighted blankets so when I saw the same methodology applied to an eye mask I was intrigued. At first I thought I hated this for the initial few days I tried it and then I loved it and found myself sleeping deeper and without interruption on the nights I slept with it. It is too heavy and bulky to travel with but perfect for at home use. I am 100% hooked on it now.

APL Sneakers:

The hype is real. I love how stylish yet functional these are. I wear them loads. Easily the most stylish yet functional sneakers I own. Seen here.

Line & Dot Textured Sweater:

I keep reaching for this sweater despite it technically not being cold enough for it yet. It is so warm and cozy! I love how it looks layered under coats and blazers.

Perfect Crop Jeans:

Not skinny. Not Straight. Just perfectly tapered and perfectly cropped. Seen here.

AGolde Nico Jeans in Fixation

These jeans are my favorite and I recently wrote about them here which led me to discover they’ve come out with a new wash called Fixation. So glad I got them as I loved them the moment they arrived. I wear them in a (rather tight but flattering) size 27.

Rent the Runway Unlimited:

This was such a nice way to breath more life into my wardrobe and curb some of my shopping. If you want to hear my full thoughts – here’s my review of Rent the Runway Unlimited. Lou & Grey Upstate Sweatpants and Sweatshirt.

I am obsessed with this set. Not only are the pieces crazy soft, they also have such a cool fit that prevents you from looking undone. I sized down in the sweats to a small (they fit perfectly!) and took my usual size of a medium in the sweatshirt which remains a bit slouchy so it is extra cozy. See me in the pants here.

Everlane Jeans.

I bought these jeans in the ankle length and absolutely love the fit. You also can’t beat the price! I have them in my usual Size 28. Seen here.

Velvet White Jeans:

I must have tried on a dozen pair of white jeans in this style and finally found this pair. I love them. Worn here, here.

Five Minute Journal:

The best habit I cultivated in 2019.

Sezane Gaspard Sweater:

I love that this can be worn both backwards and forwards. I sized down to a size small. Seen here.

Sezane White Collared Blouse:

This top is beautiful on its own or great layered under a sweater or blazer. Seen here. I sized up to a size 40.

Aqua Bloomingdale’s Puff Sleeve Cashmere Sweater:

Seen here and now 60% off.

Everlane Oversized Blazer:

So good I have this in three styles! Seen here & here.

Margaux Boots:

Comfortable and so classic. Seen here.

Old Navy Sherpa Pullover:

My favorite thing to wear at home all winter. I sized down to a small.

Old Navy Fleece Pajamas:

Seriously the coziest, most comfortable pajamas. Can’t beat the price either. I sized down to a small.

Agolde Toni Jeans:

The best pair of jeans I bought in 2019! The perfect ankle crop, so comfortable and such a flattering fit. I sized down to a size 27. Seen here, here, here.

Sarah Flint Perfect Pump:

The heel so good I’ve amassed three pair! Initially wrote about them here.

p.s. the two affordable pairs of jeans I wear all the time and some of my favorite things I own.

Re: the white Velvet Jeans — are they see-through? Can you see the front pockets? And are they TTS? Thank you!

    • Meghan says:

You can see the pocket some but not an annoying amount I’d say! And yes TTS – I run between size 27 and 28 and took these in 28 as they are pretty fitted

  2. Annie Fitzsimmons says:

OK, I am totally buying those black sneakers! I’m tired of my Nikes and need a good “walking in Europe” sneaker! Will pick them up when I’m back in the U.S. in a couple weeks.

  3. Annika says:

Hi Meghan, love this post! I tried to buy the Otherland Cardimom milk candle but it’s not on their site, is it possibly a limited edition that’s only available during the holidays? I was in Copenhagen last year too and was dying over the bakeries there!

  4. SOPHIE says:

Hi, there, great haul! I love the J crew silk slip skirt. I want it another colour though, preferably pink. Also, golden goose sneakers are on my list too!
