CurrentBody LED Light Mask Review

In my never-ending quest to better my skin without expensive and regular fillers or Botox – I’ve turned to a variety of anti-aging tools in the past year. I am in my late 30s and while I see aging as a gift, I also like to be proactive about helping my skin slow the aging process. Particularly because I have had a bit too much sun damage on my fair skin!

A recent tool I have been using the last two years is the LED Mask from CurrentBody which is a website that specializes in beauty devices. I’m excited to share my thoughts on it with you especially given the proliferation of these types of masks on the market right now.

In addition to selling some of the most popular beauty devices on the market like the NuFace and GloPro, CurrentBody also manufactures some of their own devices as well like the Currentbody Skin LED Light mask I’m speaking to today. If you’ve been curious about LED light therapy face masks, this post will be helpful to you!

If you are unfamiliar, LED light therapy is one of the best ways to combat common skin concerns. In recent years it has been made more available for at home use through beauty devices that used to be exclusive to spas. Lots of celebrities use red light therapy to help their skin – especially before big events – so I was excited to incorporate the Currentbody LED Face Mask into my skincare routine and test it out.

As we age, our skin can lose between 20 – 80% of its thickness so LED light therapy helps to firm skin and slow the aging process. Unlike other devices, the mask’s flexibility ensures that the maximum amount of light hits the lower layers of the skin, delivering both instant and long term results.

Overall, red light waves accelerate the production of new collagen which makes our skin more firm and appear healthier. As someone who has never had botox or filler, I like that this is an easy, at-home routine that I can do to help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin firmness and I’ve found it helps redness in my skin, too.

How CurrentBody LED Mask Works

Fully Flexible

Unlike other LED masks you may have seen, the one from CurrentBody is made of fully flexible silicone and therefore easily wearable. It’s super lightweight and comfortable and comes with easy to adjust velcro straps. I’ve had no issue keeping it in place and so appreciate that it can be totally hands free.

Professional Grade

While you wear it for ten minutes, the mask delivers the ideal dose of dual LED light directly to the skin. It’s been made to medical device directives and delivers the same clinically-proven wavelengths as professional salon machines.

This LED Light Therapy Face Mask uses wavelengths to reach up to 4cm of skin tissue to really boost collagen.

Dual Light Therapy

The CurrentBody mask harnesses two combinations of light diodes to rejuvenate your complexion. First, Red Light stimulates the production of new collagen, calms redness and creates an even skin tone. Then, Near Infra-Red works beneath the skin’s surface. It penetrates deep into the skin’s surface to boost collagen production, improve circulation and blood flow while also boosting oxygen to the skin’s cells.

How To Use The CurrentBody LED Mask

Just 10 Minutes

You only have to wear the mask 10 minutes a day to begin to see results. The mask has an automatic timer so it’ll shut off as soon as 10 minutes has elapsed.

When used regularly, the mask is clinically proven to reduce wrinkles by 35% in just 4 weeks. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my fine lines and wrinkles.

Work Your Way Up

If you have sensitive skin, you’ll want to work your way up to every day use. Start with 2-3 times a week and then increase to every other day. I have no irritation now when I use it nearly every day.

Hydrate After

Infrared light can make your skin feel dry after use so be sure to hydrate your skin after you use the mask. I recommend a hyaluronic acid serum and a good moisturizer.

Who Can Use The CurrentBody LED Mask

Anyone looking to help get more glowy skin and reduce the signs of fine lines and other markers of age is a good fit for the CurrentBody LED Mask but as with all skincare devices, if you have any concerns be sure to consult a dermatologist before use.

You should avoid using LED light therapy devices if pregnant or have light sensitivities, however. It is also recommended that you perform a sensitivity test before your first time using the mask. You can do so by testing the mask on your inner arm before you wear it on your face.

My Honest Review Of The CurrentBody Led Mask

I found the mask really easy to work into my routine as I would wear it at the end of the day and enjoy ten minutes away from screens. I’d sit in a comfy chair, close my eyes and zone out for the ten minutes that the mask was working.

With regular use of the LED light therapy mask, I found my skin definitely felt more firm and the texture of my skin improved. I’ve done infrared light therapy at spas before but never could maintain it with any regularity so I love that I can do it at home in ten minutes.

Using the mask is totally painless and was an investment into my skincare routine so that I can continue to help slow the wrinkles and fine lines that have begun to crop up.

If you’re seeking a way to get healthier looking skin that has more  of a glow, I definitely recommend the CurrentBody light therapy mask as an investment but I will say you must be consistent with use in order to begin to see results! I also love that it is so lightweight so it packs easily and you could bring it along with you on trips so you’re not missing sessions!

I also think it is great for anyone experiencing redness in their face. I have very fair skin and get redness on my cheeks so this helps to combat that with regular use.

I love putting this on after dinner. I pour myself a glass of wine, sit on the couch, turn on the mask, wait ten minutes and then enjoy the rest of my evening.
