Fall Trends Worth Shopping

If there is one thing I look forward to every single year it is the return of the Fall season. It is my favorite season to plan trips, to cook and bake, to add seasonal touches to my home and of course it is my favorite season in which to shop and get dressed.

Fall Trends Worth Shopping

Every August I get excited to start seeing what retailers are beginning to drop. I begin to edit my own wardrobe to donate anything I’m not wearing much anymore, I bring back out my favorite pieces from last Fall and I begin curating wish lists of what I’d like to add to my closet this year.

Saks has long been a go-to retailer for me for investment pieces and is one of the spots I look to first when I begin shopping for a new season. Following last month’s post highlighting 1 Dress; 3 Ways I am excited to be back again today to share another post with the retailer!

Saks carries so many of my favorite brands like La Ligne, Veronica Beard, Reformation, Agolde, Doen, Saint Laurent, Totême, Celine; among others and whenever I am looking for special pieces or shopping for trips or investment items, it is one of the first places I shop. I am thrilled to be working with Saks again to give you a sneak peek into some of the Fall trends and vibes I am loving for the season.

I am not one to chase trends and I don’t try to style things that may be popular but don’t feel like they align with my own personal style. It’s why I have skipped many a popular item in the past. I think you should always wear what you want to wear and not feel pressured to wear things that don’t feel *you*.

This year I am gravitating towards the classics with some feminine meets off duty style vibes. I am loving the juxtaposition of timeless items like ballerina flats paired with more tomboy items like a ball cap which inspired today’s look.

I’ll be keeping plaid blazers in my Fall uniform – but of course! My newest addition to my Veronica Beard collection is this beautifully tailored Berkshire Dickey Houndstooth Blazer. I have never been able to master the cool-girl cinched sleeve styling on my blazers so I loved that this blazer comes with it built into the sleeves! Effortless and easy. (If you’d like to dress up the blazer with a suiting moment – there are matching pants!)

The Agolde Riley Jeans have been favorites for a couple years now and when I saw the new wash and mid-rise style they have this season, I jumped at the chance to style them with this look. This style runs a bit small so I take my usual style. They have a little stretch to them and the subtle distressed hems are my favorite part of this button-fly pair. I am 5’5” and love where they hit me right at the ankle. It makes them perfect to style with ballerina flats like I did here but also mules, loafers and ankle booties.

This pair of jeans is also now on my Fall wish list after the Saks sales associate showed them to me.

When I saw these Manolo Blahnik Suede Ballerina Flats in-store at Saks Fifth Avenue the other weekend I was sold instantly. The beige color makes them perfect for year round wear and the suede makes them perfect for Fall in particular. They are also available in a beautiful black suede. To score a similar look for less, try this pair of ballet flats by Sam Edelman. (The metallic pair is fun, too!)

I topped the look off with a neutral, casual ball cap by Anine Bing representing one of my favorite towns. (Love the color of this one, too!)

This look would also pair well with a sleek sneaker like this pair, this pair or this pair, too. Or I love the idea of adding a classic Converse sneaker in white or black

Below I have rounded up a bunch of styles from my favorite designers that Saks carries as you begin your pre-Fall shopping. I am craving all the navy, chocolate brown and pieces that make for elevated, effortless mixing and matching for the months (and years!) ahead. I’m shopping bucket bags, straight leg denim, gray-wash denim and striped knits alongside textured little jackets. Classics that can be worn in a variety of ways is always the lens in which I shop!

And right now, starting today you can get up to $200 off your purchase when you use code SUNNY23SF on valid items. This is only good through August 30th! Let me know what you end up picking up in the Comments below!

A trick I saw for pushing sleeves up & holding them: elastic garters! Push them up, add garter, arrange fabric to cover. This way you can also wear the sleeves at full length.
