You didn’t think I could do French Girl Closet Staples without spotlighting the striped tee, did you!? Stripes truly never go out of style and when worn right, can be so flattering, so stylish and so versatile. I’ve amassed quite a collection of them over the years and definitely play favorites when it comes to brand and fabric.
French Girl Closet Staples – The Striped Tee
I am very picky about my striped tees because I have a larger chest and not all stripes or fabrics are created equal when it comes to being flattering on various shapes and sizes.
My personal favorite striped tees are from Saint James (such amazing quality and great fits), Petit Bateau (hard to find in the U.S. anymore however!) Sezane, H&M and Everlane. I often use striped tees as a layering piece under my favorite blazers, sweaters and chic jackets. This striped bodysuit would also be great as a layering piece, too.
The iconic French Breton striped tee has been around for decades and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon so it’s a great staple to have in your wardrobe.
This Sezane striped tee in the camel/ecru was such a worthwhile buy. I had always kept my striped tee collection to navy/white, black/white or red/ivory and I absolutely love how the camel pairs with my many black jackets and blazers and it looks great layered under my many ivory sweaters as well. It’s out of stock right now but as it is a part of the brand’s Essentials collection I suspect it’ll be restocked soon.
