RMS Beauty Review

I’ve slowly shifted to using nearly all clean makeup these days – a process that has taken me over two years – and one of the brands I rely on for a variety of daily use products is that of RMS Beauty. Clean beauty offers all sorts of advantages and RMS Beauty was one of the earlier brands to really create products that didn’t sacrifice performance when they cut out toxic chemicals. I’ve tried a lot of the products in the line and today I am sharing which ones are worth it – and which ones to skip.

RMS Beauty is the brainchild of makeup artist Rose Marie Swift who wanted to limit the impact of toxic makeup and daily exposure to chemicals that we often are exposed to due to every day makeup use. RMS focused on using organic ingredients and really getting skin to glow. There is also a big emphasis on formulating with hydrating ingredients as well making it great for aging skin that may be on the drier side.

RMS is a high quality, clean cosmetics line that is also cruelty free, non-GMO, non-nano, hypoallergenic and non comedogenic. The line has entirely removed toxic chemicals like parabens, sulfates, phthalates, silicone and talc as well.

RMS “Re” Evolve Radiance Locking Primer

This primer was designed to lock in your A.M. skincare and grip your makeup all day. I really like the density of it but also that it gives a good glow while also smoothing skin. It gives a great sense or radiance and I love that the package is refillable! It’s formulated with vegetable squalane, hyaluronic acid and eggplant fruit extract and is gel texture.

RMS Eye Polish

This is a hydrating eye shadow that was designed to have a light-reflecting finish. The polish delivers a light, sheer and subtly metallic glow to your lids and I like mixing it with powder shadow. I have the shade Utopia which is great for every day wear. Definitely recommend using an eye shadow primer before application!

RMS Powder Review

RMS Tinted Un Powder

The RMS Tinted “Un”Powder is an ultra-fine, light reflecting powder that has just the slightest of color to it which helps minimize pores and get red of any lingering redness. I love that it helps absorb oil and is a great one & done product on days I don’t want to wear any base makeup.

Comes in 3 shades – I use O-1.

RMS Un Powder

The translucent counterpart to the Tinted Un Powder – perfect for setting makeup and absorbing excess oil. Gives skin a smooth, natural finish.

My biggest issue with the powders are the oh-so-small holes expected to distribute the product. It takes way too much work to get enough product out to cover your face.

RMS Foundation Review

RMS Un Cover-Up Cream Foundation

This is a great foundation that provides more coverage on days when my skin needs it.  It is super creamy and blends out well with the foundation brush the brand sells to go along with it. The finish on it is lightweight despite the coverage provided and I feel like it gives a great luminosity to the skin. I do have to use loose powder to set it however.

Comes in 16 shades. I use shade 00.

RMS Foundation Brush

This angled foundation brush was designed to really hug the curves of your face as you apply your foundation. The bristles are tightly layered to help blend and I found it did a great job applying their Un Cover Up Foundation.

RMS Blush Review

RMS Lip2Cheek

This was the first product I ever bought from RMS – it’s been a hero product of theirs essentially from the start. The product is buildable and was formulated to hydrate so you won’t find it drying on the skin or on your lips. The color wash is pretty sheer but you can build up on it as mentioned. A little goes a long way though so use sparingly at first! Given its multi-tasking benefits, this is a great product to keep in your bag or travel with.

Comes in 10 shades with Demure being my personal go-to.

RMS Pressed Blush

This blush in shade Lost Angel is holy grail for me – a true favorite in the category. Los Angel is a great clean dupe for NARS Orgasm. I particularly love layering it over my favorite cream blush.

They only have three shades so I really hope they expand the colorways soon.

RMS Wild With Desire Lipstick

I could take or leave this lipstick – I think it’s fine but nothing memorable that keeps me reaching for it like other lip products I own. It does have a good finish on it thanks to it being infused with a bit of oil.

Comes in 15 shades.

RMS Highlighter Review

RMS Radiance Powder

If you were a fan of the Becca highlighters, you’ll like this powder. It works to reflect light and really adds a luminous finish thanks to its ultra-fine mineral pigments.

Comes in three shades and I use the shade Grand Dame.

RMS Master Radiance Base

For a super glowy look, add this cream highlighter to your face at your highlight points before you apply foundation. This base has jojoba, chia and meadowfoam seed oils so skin gets hydrated and firmed with use. You get a soft but impactful glow. You can use it alone, as a base, mixed with foundation or as a highlighter on face or body. A great multi-tasker.

RMS Living Glow Face & Body Powder

Use this powder sparingly. It’s mega-wattage and is easy to overdo.

RMS Luminizer

A perfectly pocket sized “living luminizer” that I find is great for travel. It adds a nice delicate glowy effect to skin without going overboard. I have the peach shade which has a nice bronze-yness to it.

RMS Un-Cover Up

A lot of people love the brand’s Un-Cover Up concealer but it wasn’t for me. It was too slick in its application and didn’t have enough staying power for me. It is available in 16 shades.

RMS Swift Eye Shadow

This product may have been discontinued as I can no longer find it in stock but I hope they bring it back as I loved it! I have and use nearly daily the shade Garden Rose.

Where is RMS Beauty Sold?

The brand is sold on Credo Beauty, at Sephora, Dermstore, The Detox Market, Net a Porter, Follain and via Amazon. The brand also sells Bundles via Amazon.
