Tower 28 Product Review

Tower 28 is a fun and affordable clean beauty line that I’ve found some real winners with when testing the line since it was introduced. The brand has a relatively small edit of products and many of the product are designed to be multi-purpose with a refreshing summery vibe to each of the launches.

Tower 28 Product Review

Today I am doing a full review of the line and sharing what I think are worth buying and what I also think are worth skipping! I love testing out products and consider it one of my favorite parts of this blog. I test things for several weeks before sharing my opinions. Below I am breaking down each product from the line I’ve tried. In fact, Tower28 Beauty is the first and only brand to fully follow the National Eczema Association’s Ingredient Guidelines. So if you’re someone who finds many formulas irritating, this brand may be a great option for you.

What Is Tower 28

Tower 28 Beauty was created by founder Amy Liu after years of struggling with sensitive skin. She couldn’t find a makeup line that worked for her so she decided to create what she was looking for. Everything in the line has been rigorously dermatologist and allergy tested. In addition, the line features non-irritating ingredients combined with high-performance formulas.

The brand was inspired by the effortless California lifestyle with the name coming from a real lifeguard tower in Santa Monica, California. Tower 28 is a meeting spot for locals and was selected  for the brand to symbolizes community, healthy fun and clean living.

In addition, on Earth Day every year, the brand donates 100% of their gross profits to support ocean conservation with Heal the Bay, an environmental 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to cleaning and maintaining the coastal waters and watersheds in the Greater Los Angeles area. I also love that all of their plastic product packaging is made from at least 50% PCR (post-consumer resin, aka recycled plastic). Which also helps divert waste from landfills.

Tower 28 also avoids excess packaging like mirrors, false bottoms and paper inserts when designing their packaging.

Now, let’s get to the product review…

Best Tower 28 Products

Sculptino Soft Cream Contour

If you like cream contour products, this is a great one that’s particularly handy for on the go application. It melts effortlessly into skin and has neutral undertones so it is rather foolproof. It also adds dimension to the face. And is safe for sensitive skin, non-comedogenic, and fragrance-free.

It comes in four shades and I use the lightest shade Broad.

JuiceBalm Vegan Tinted Lip Balm

I love having this buttery smooth, vegan tinted lip balm in my purse. It gives a soft wash of juicy color and, thanks to ingredients like shea butter, mango seed oil, Vitamin E and Vitamin C, it super cushiony when applied while leaving a dewy sheen on the lips.

It also comes in four shades and I have shades Mix and Squeeze.

MakeWaves Mascara

This product has gone viral and sold out many times and it is easy to see why. In fact, this vegan mascara is safe for sensitive eyes and visibly volumizes, lengthens and defines lashes. I also found the formula really buildable and super easy to remove. There was no crunchy lashes or visible clumping.

MakeWaves Mascara is ophthalmologist-tested, contact lens safe, allergy tested, and 100% safe for sensitive eyes.

BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm

This was the first Tower28 product I tried and it is a great multi-tasker. You can use it as a tinted balm on both your cheeks and lips but I use it primarily as a good cream blush. It was made with a lot of skin-forward ingredients so it gives your skin a really nice, healthy-looking glow.

This was designed to be good for all skin types including dry, mature, sensitive, blemish-prone, combination and normal.

BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm in eight shades and I have shade Magic Hour which gives a sun-kissed rosy nude glow.

OneLiner Multi-Liner

I am a big fan of lip liners and this one is a great creamy, matte high pigmented one that can even be used on your eyes if you want! (I don’t use it on both eyes and lips just because I don’t love that idea from a hygiene perspective personally!)

OneLiner is safe for sensitive eyes, silicone-free, vegan + cruelty-free.

ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly

If you love lip glosses, you’ll love the Tower 28 Lip Jelly product! It is a non-sticky, super moisturizing lip gloss that gives major shine and was specifically designed to be great for those who experience sensitive, dry or chapped lips.

The ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly offer the perfect shine alongside the nourishment and comfort of a balm and a hint of color. These lip jellies are formulated with plant-based ingredients including apricot kernel and raspberry seed oils to nourish lips and have been a bestselling product for the line since they were introduced.

The ShineOn Milky Lip Jellies come in six shades with Oat (a semi-sheer milky peachy pink) and Cashew (a semi0sheer, milky rose brown) being my personal favorites.

For less milky and more shine, reach for the Tower 28 Shine On Lip Jellies.

Bronzino Illuminating Bronzer

I don’t use this illuminating bronzer balm much but if you’re someone who likes a bit of shimmer in their complexion products, you’ll likely enjoy this summery-glow bronzer that was designed for that California sun kissed look.

Bronzino is safe for sensitive skin, non-comedogenic, fragrance-free, and made with mica that is 100% ethically sourced in the USA.

It comes in five shades. I own shade Bronzino.

SunnyDays Tinted SPF Sunscreen Foundation

SunnyDays Tinted SPF Sunscreen Foundation

I love, love, love this sunscreen. It’s part SPF, part foundation but yet additional makeup layers well atop it. It features SPF 30 and works to protect from sun damage, blue light and works magically to even out any redness. There’s no white cast, it doesn’t have a greasy finish like so many similar products on the market and it is the first and only complexion makeup product with the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance.

Tower28 SunnyDays Tinted SPF Sunscreen Foundation is available in 17 shades and I wear the lightest shade – shade 5 Fairfax which is for fair skin with pink undertones.

SuperDew Shimmer-Free Highlighter Balm

I’m sadly not a fan of this clear highlight balm as I don’t think it really adds enough glow but rather ends up making my skin look greasy. I prefer the Westman Atelier Lit Up stick to this product.

If you have super sensitive skin, you may want to try this luminous balm though as SuperDew has received the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance™ and is safe for all skin types.

SOS (Save. Our. Skin) Daily Rescue Facial Spray

I love facial sprays for when my skin is needing extra TLC and this one is great for stressed out skin in particular. I got a handy sample size and have loved popping it in my travel bags for when my skin needs some added attention. It was designed to soothe and purify skin.

The hero ingredient, hypochlorous acid (HOCl), is naturally found in a human’s white blood cells, which help to fight and defend your body from harmful bacteria and inflammation. When applied to the skin, HOCl triggers an immune boost, which then signals your body to repair and heal irritated skin.

Tower 28 Beauty Review

I think there are some real winners in this well-priced, beachy line of makeup and I particularly love that everything is designed with skin sensitivities in mind. The range starts at $15 and goes up to $32 for the SPF.
