It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away now that we’ve entered November! I always think of Thanksgiving as the official start to the holiday season – when we begin gathering and celebrating and getting extra time with loved ones. It’s a great marker in the year to recognize all we have to be grateful for and nothing beats being with friends and family over a delicious spread of food and cocktails.
Of course part of the Thanksgiving fun is also deciding what to wear! Whether you dress up for your Thanksgiving or you keep it more casual (and comfy!), today’s post has a variety of outfits to inspire your Thanksgiving look this year.
Thanksgiving Outfits For Women
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post where I have rounded up loads of pieces you can shop now to replicate the Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas shared here.
Floral Dress & Leather Jacket
I love Fall florals and Thanksgiving is the perfect opportunity to wear them. Add a cool factor by topping your floral dress with a leather jacket and add a dressier bootie.
Leather Leggings with a Cape
Who is #TeamLeggings on Thanksgiving? Leather Leggings look dressy but have the blessed elastic waist so they are a favorite of mine – especially on Thanksgiving with all the food in store. Dress them up with a seasonal cape or oversized scarf.
Monochrome Outfit
Now I’m not suggesting you go to a holiday focused on eating in all white – maybe try camel? But a monochrome look is an easy way to look chic without a lot of thought.
Sweater with Velvet Leggings
Dress up your leggings a bit and avoid looking like you didn’t try by doing a legging in a pretty velvet.
Pleated Midi Skirt
Ideal for dressier occasions, a pleated midi skirt could easily pair with ankle booties or if you live in a warmer climate, you could wear a pump or a heeled sandal with it.
Cozy and Casual Sweater Coat
Sweater coats are just the best and a perfect topper if you plan to spend a large part of your Thanksgiving lounging.
Oversized Cashmere Sweater
For when you need to undo your top button on your pants, an oversized cashmere sweater is just the ticket to allow you to do so! Wearing above the La Ligne Marin Sweater.
Printed Pants
Love a print or color this time of year? Grab a pair of fun pants to celebrate Thanksgiving in! Ann Taylor is my go to for pants.
Plaid Blazer with Skinny Jeans
My uniform this time of year is a plaid blazer layered over a cashmere sweater and jeans with a feminine flat. It’s a casual-cool look for Thanksgiving and likely can be replicated without buying anything new for your closet.
Cozy Cardigan and Booties
If longer cardigans are the silhouette you feel best in, I recommend pairing it with an ankle boot that’s comfy for standing and hanging out and adding a bit more style to the look.
Mini Skirt with Booties
A tweed mini skirt paired with tights and a sock bootie is a favorite Fall look of mine and a perfect Thanksgiving outfit when you and yours dress up a bit more for the holiday.
Wrap Cardigan and Black Pants
I love a belted wrap cardigan for hiding my Thanksgiving sins. This one is made from stretchy, forgiving fabric. Pair it with black jeans or black pants and a feminine flat.
Layered Blazer and Black Pants
Equal parts comfortable and put together, choose a high waisted but stretchy black pant and then add layers in Fall colors. You can pair the black pants with a pump or opt for a flat like a loafer or a mule.
Sweater Dress with Booties
A midi sweater dress will no doubt be comfortable enough all Thanksgiving day. Pair it with a pair of suede ankle booties with a heel to dress it up or sneakers if you’re going more casual.
Maxi Dress with Heeled Booties
If you plan to go all out with your Thanksgiving outfit, I recommend doing a maxi dress paired with heeled booties. To add a bit of a cool factor, you can top the dress with a leather jacket.
Lace Top + Slingbacks
I think a lace top makes for the perfect Thanksgiving shirt if you’re going more casual. It is slightly dressy but still can be paired with jeans and a fun shoe like a slingback that’s comfy. Sezane makes all my favorite ones.
Turtleneck Sweater Dress
I love a comfy, cozy sweater dress and one with a turtleneck is perfect for the cooler November weather. I like to pair mine with over the knee boots and you could also belt it if you wanted.
Floral Midi Dress + Boots
I love Fall florals and a midi dress with knee high leather boots is a great option for a dressier Thanksgiving gathering. Longer dresses are also great for not having to worry about crossing your legs under the dinner table or sitting around before or after the meal.
Slip Dress + Leather Jacket
A easy one and done outfit. Don a slip dress with a leather jacket or even a little tweed jacket!
Slip Skirt + Cashmere Sweater
Similar to the slip dress outfit but with a nice elastic waist band. I like to pair my slip skirts with cozy cashmere sweaters come November and knee high boots. Perfect for a polished Thanksgiving look.
