You can count on seeing me in more patterns and prints come summer and I’m always adding a few floral dresses to my rotation as the weather turns warmer. Floral outfits are perfect for a summer day and while I mostly wear white and black dresses in the summer, I have been known to style floral dresses from time to time.
In today’s post I am sharing some of my favorite ways to style a floral pattern dress and I’ve also rounded up what I think are the best floral pattern dresses and pieces available to shop now from my favorite stores.
Summer Florals
A floral dress whether it be a maxi dress or midi dress is perfect in spring and in summer for a baby shower, a bridal shower, drinks out with girlfriends or a date so I love them for their versatility. I also particularly love packing florals for summer vacations. You’ll almost always find one in my suitcase for trips to Europe in June, July or August.
But not all floral prints and patterns are created equal. I actually find a lot rather ugly. So sifting through the options is key. But I’ve done that work for you with the shoppable widget below. I found a lot of cute floral rompers, dresses and swimsuits in particular!

How To Style A Floral Dress
A floral dress is my favorite way to style florals personally. But in my floral edit I’ve also included floral swimsuits, floral sets and other floral items.
With a denim jacket
Adding a jean jacket atop a floral dress is one of my favorite summer combinations.
These days I am liking more feminine than classic denim jackets. Think collarless or a feminine collar like this one I just got (size L).
With summery accessories
I often pair my floral dresses with my favorite espadrilles and a favorite raffia bag.

With a belt
Break up a floral pattern by adding a simple leather wrap belt. This one seen above is my all-time favorite I own in several colors.
The M.M.LaFleur dress above is now on major sale. I’m wearing a M.
With strappy heels
Dress up a floral midi dress with a pair of strappy heels for a night out. Emme Parsons makes some of my favorite styles.
This White House Black Market contrast lace midi dress is now on major sale!
With flat sandals
Speaking of which, my favorite Emme Parsons sandals pair seamlessly with a flirty, floral mini dress.
The above dress is from Tuckernuck’s well priced label Hyacinth House.
With a woven bag
A petite woven bag is a lovely addition to any floral dress.
While the dress above is sold out, Posse has a gorgeous collection of floral dresses! I usually size up in the brand.
Off the Shoulder Floral Dresses
If you’re looking for a romantic, date-night-ready off the shoulder floral dress this new style from Reformation is beautiful and reminiscent of my older J.Crew dress seen above.
And don’t miss my favorite midi dress (that I own in three colors) is now available in a beautiful floral mini version.
