Things I’ve Bought and Loved Recently

Classic Outfit I Plaid Blazer in Paris

It’s the first Things I’ve Bought and Loved Recently of 2022! So needless to say we have a lot to catch up on.

As you well know by now, I tend to do a mix of high and low pieces all year round and this year my shopping habits have been no different. It’s also why I can write posts years later like Things in my Closet I’ll Be Wearing This Spring linking to items that are still available – because when you invest in classics you’ll have them for so much longer. It’s also why you see me wear a lot of the same pieces often, in a variety of different ways.

Things I’ve Bought and Loved Recently

Fashion

Knickey Underwear

I restocked on my favorite underwear. Seriously it is so comfortable it feels like wearing nothing for the thongs!

Senreve Belt Bag*

I bring a variety of bags with me when I go to Paris and this one fits quite a bit so it is good for the daytime when I’m bringing my camera and a variety of other things around the city with me. I like that it can be carried on my shoulder or by the top handle.

The Drop Sweater

I got a size M but if re-ordering I’d go up to a Large to have a roomier fit. You can see it on me here.

Cashmere Tee*

I love a cashmere tee as a layering piece.. This one comes in a variety of pretty colors. I’ve been wearing it so much! I sized up for a roomier fit so got a Large.

Alex Mill Striped Tee

I always bring a striped tee in my suitcase when going to Paris and spring is no exception. I own striped tees in a variety of colors but love a navy and white combo like this one this time of year. I got the M but now wish I had sized up for a roomier fit. See it on here. I also got this pretty green one recently for springtime layering.

Bash Cesar Blazer*

One of my most worn items of April. Such a cool girl fit on this oversized blazer (I have Size 2) and the neutral ensures it goes with everything.

SHASHI Tennis Clasp Bracelet

A real tennis bracelet isn’t yet in my budget (one day!) so in the meantime this one fit the bill perfectly. I have a lot of items from this brand and they’ve all held up so well despite the price point.

Naked Cashmere Kaia Sweater

This was a new to me brand that I discovered when a catalog ended up in my mail and now I’m a convert. This sweater + the one below have been two of my most worn for the past six months. I was TTS in a M in this one.

Naked Cashmere Sariah Sweater

This style is so good for layering and I adore the long sleeves with a great cuff detail. I sized up to a Large.

Jenni Kayne Sweater Pants

WFH dream pants. I got them in a M.

Me + Em Cuff Sleeve Tee

As soon as I saw this tee on Instagram I bought it. Truly so good for under all my favorite little tweed jackets as seen here. I got a size 8.

Me + Em Collar Layering Tee

Another good tee with a detail – I love that this easily layers under any sweater or top for a special, feminine collar detail. I took a size 6.

Kate Spade Tweed Jacket*

Navy, tweed, puff sleeve perfection. You know this jacket had my name all over it! See it on here.

Madewell Bodysuit

I love the bodysuits Madewell makes so when I saw this ribbed one in a cool brown neutral I jumped at it. I’ve been wearing it under all my blazers for the past few months. I always size up to a Large in bodysuits.

La Ligne Dress

This dress made me feel like a million bucks when I wore it in Paris and I can’t wait to wear it to events all summer long. It’s pricey but man is it beautiful. I love this brand’s sweaters but now I fear I have fallen for their dresses, too.

Agolde Riley Crop Jeans

The lighter wash and distressed detail make these the perfect spring into summer jean. I got a size 28 as I find the Riley doesn’t have much stretch.

Agolde Merrell Straight Leg Jeans

The perfect versatile jean in an on-trend style.. This brand is my favorite for my Paris trips and this new style is really chic and on trend without being overly trendy. I got size 27.

Caterina Bertini Woven Shoulder Bag

An under $200 spring and summer staple. It keeps selling out so try and grab it if you can!

Veronica Beard Ivanna Sequin Dress*

When I wore this dress in Paris I got so many messages! It’s a showstopper for sure and the ultimate party dress I can’t wait to wear again. I sized up to an 8 as the fit is rather snug.

Veronica Beard Houndstooth Blazer*

You know my love of plaid blazers knows no bounds. Seen in the above photos, this one is a new favorite in my rotation.

Staud Midi Dress

I live in white midi dresses all summer long so was excited to have this one in my closet for the foreseeable future. I sized up to an 8.

Loewe Straw & Leather Tote

I finally bit the bullet on this bag that I had bee eyeing for some time before I left for Paris. The petite size is perfect and I absolutely love that the handles are adjustable so you can change the length of the strap!

Black Converse Sneakers

Casual sneakers for daytime outings like all the Paris girls wore.

J.Crew Icon Trench Coat

No trip to Paris in the spring is complete without a trench coat. It’ll likely be your most worn piece. I highly recommend one with a hood like this one! I love that the hood is detachable.

MM.LaFleur Fatima Poplin Dress*

I got so many questions about this dress when I wore it in Paris! Truly the perfect summer dress that’s comfortable, easily dressed up or dressed down and I love that the sash comes off! I have it in a size M.

MM.LaFleur Edith Dress*

I was so excited to work with MM.LaFleur again and this time in Paris! I got to wear and shoot their gorgeous new Edith Dress which is true pleated perfection. It will make you feel like a million bucks – trust. I have it in a M.

& Other Stories Belted Midi Dress*

You guys know I loved a ribbed knit and I love a midi dress so this had my name all over it. I sized up to a size Large for a roomier fit through the chest and it has a super flattering fit.

47 Baseball Cap

I was looking for a baseball cap in black with an adjustable closure for some time. I have a big head so most baseball caps give me a headache. Since I can adjust the size on this one I no longer have that issue!

Timex Watch

On my wish list is a Cartier watch but in the meantime, I wanted a vintage feeling one and this Timex totally fits the bill for a great price. I love that it comes with two bands!

Travel Toiletry Containers

I generally hate all the obnoxiously bright colored toiletry containers you find at drugstores so I was thrilled to find this neutral set when I was getting ready for Paris.

Beauty

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5

I talked about this recently in my post about the 16 Best French Beauty Products but it has done wonders for my skin when it was feeling stressed out and compromised. I slather it on at night and my skin always looks and feels better in the A.M.

NYX Eyeliner

When I am too lazy to use my beloved Bobbi Brown pot gel eyeliner and brush, I reach for this stuff that goes on like a dream. You can’t beat the price point either!

Tula Sunscreen

I spoke about this recently after my trip to LA but I was so impressed with this stuff! It goes on so well with no whitecast or greasy residue and makeup goes on easily after it! I also found I could reapply it without ruining my makeup which was a game changer.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

This blush is so pretty! Such a diffused, sun kissed feel to it and a little goes a long way so just dab it on and blend it out for a really pretty wash of color. I have shades Bliss and Hope.

Makeup by Mario Lip Plumping Serum

This stuff keeps selling out because it’s really good. A nice little oomph to your lips and a super hydrating formula that gives lips the loveliest glow with a sheer tint. I got the shade Mauve Glow.

Makeup by Mario Ultra Suede Sculpting Lip Pencil

Also by Makeup By Mario, his lip pencils are great. If you’re not yet using a lip pencil – might I suggest adding one in? They help define your lips, can make them appear larger if you’d like and help with staying power of your other lip products.

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Flawless Filter

I was so excited to see that Charlotte Tilbury was now offering a mini size of this viral and very famous product now so I added it to my cart for the Sephora sale and it bought it to me to Paris.

I layered Shade 2 over my favorite ever Saie primer and then would apply my Armani foundation with a bit of my Erborian BB Cream and oh man you guys – The GLOW! My skin has never looked better.

Maison Margiela Lazy Sunday Perfume

I bought this in Paris in March and it’ll forever remind me of blissful days with no agenda and sunny coffees and just feeling relaxed and happy. It’s super lightweight and just feels like a warm yet crisp weekend day.

Lawless Forget the Filler Lip Plumper Smoothing Gloss

This stuff definitely gives your lips a nice healthy plump and I found myself wearing it constantly in Paris. It’s not sticky or overly tingly like a lot of other plumping glosses. I got the shade George.

dpHue Gloss

To help keep my hair bright and not very brassy, I use this gloss to color correct between salon appointments. I used it right before I went to Paris instead of getting my highlights touched up and you can see in the photos in this post how much cooler my color is following having used it. This stuff gets rid of the brass and more golden tones that my hair takes on about a month to six weeks after getting my hair done.

It comes in a variety of shades for various hair colors.

Love these recs-thank you for sharing!
I think the belt bag link is labeled wrong – the link was for a Celine 🙂 very cute regardless!

I’m seriously considering the cashmere tee but curious as to the weight. Will it be too hot to wear in a few weeks or is it thin enough to wear in an air-conditioned restaurant in June?
