Best Products for Winter Skin

Cold winter months often brings changes to our winter skincare routine. If you’re not changing up your beauty products each season, this is your sign to do so.

Cold weather, dry air, lower humidity and freezing temperatures can wreak havoc on your skin all winter long so now it the time to invest in some better products that your winter skin will definitely benefit from.

Today I am sharing a roundup of all my favorite skin care products for cold weather.

20 Skin Care Products For Cold Weather

Biossance Oil and Skinceuticals B5 Gel

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

A gorgeously light oil that is wonderful to add into your skincare routine for winter skin. It brightens and firms skin and one drop is great added to your daily moisturizer or to your favorite foundation for a bit of added hydration thanks to squalane. I love that it is also recommended for all skin types.

Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel

One of my very favorite SkinCeuticals products, this stuff is like a drink of water for your skin. It’s a heavy dose of hyaluronic acid that’s known for its hydrating properties and there’s no wonder there’s thousands of good reviews. Every December I bring this back in rotation and it works wonders. (It’s actually specially formulated to help your moisturizer go to work, too!)

Osea Hyaluronic Sea Serum

Another great HA serum for when your skin needs a drink. I’ve gone through multiple bottles and it’s one of my favorite hyaluronic acid serums. It always feels like giving my skin a big drink of water when I apply it.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

This mask is a great shot of hydration for your skin. I use it more as a moisturizer than a mask as I never end up tissuing any of it off (my skin is THIRSTY this time of year) and I always bring it with me on planes to fight the dry air when you travel. I personally only ever buy the mini tubes of this mask which are perfect for travel.

Sara Happ Dream Slip Lip Treatment

I’ve tried out a lot of lip masks and lip balms before bedtime but this is the best one, hands down, I’ve ever tried. My lips get so crazy dry during Winter and after just one round of this nighttime treatment, my chapped lips are like new again when I wake up. I think it is far superior to the Laneige ones I have tried.

Looking for a hydrating tinted lip balm to wear during the winter? I recommend the Westman Atelier Squeaky Clean Lip Balms.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment

And for a more affordable lip balm option, I always recommend Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Works quickly to heal chapped lips and I love how multi-purpose this stuff is! I’m reaching for my jar of it on the daily in Winter.

Briogeo Charcoal Shampoo Review

Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal Shampoo

I think of my scalp as an extension of the rest of my skin and need to treat it as such in Winter when my scalp becomes drier. I love the Briogeo Charcoal Shampoo so much I wrote a whole post about it. It detoxifies your scalp, helps keep build up at bay and really revives your scalp health and therefore your hair health.

I love using it in tandem with this scalp massager.

K18 Leave-In Repair Hair Mask

Another winter hair go-to for me is this leave-in hair mask. A couple pumps distributed from tip to root after you shampoo and your hair will be softer and more revived.

Caudalie Eye Cream

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Firming Eye Gel-Cream

This eye cream is great if you are noticing more fine lines around your eyes and I particularly love it in Winter because of it’s thicker, balm like texture while still having some bounce of a gel.

It glides on beautifully and can have makeup put atop it with no pilling if you use it in the morning. I find myself reaching for it morning and night and love that it works to make fine lines less noticeable by plumping and firming the skin around my eyes.

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5

Does your skin feel overly sensitized and in need of major TLC? Reach for this balm. It’s like a fancy aquaphor for your face but more wearable. It’ll repair your skin barrier and help it recover from any irritation.

Caudalie SOS Cream

Caudalie SOS Cream

This night cream is the best for dry, dehydrated skin. You’ll notice an improvement in your dry skin in just one use. I add it back into my routine every November/December as the air gets colder and dryer and indoor heating kicks in. I’ve used up several jars and I’ve never found another cream to rival the hydration this one gives (even La Mer didn’t do as good of a job!) I have found that a little goes a long way and this cream will absorb best when you let your other skincare soak in first.

Face Masks for Winter Skin

Farmacy Honey Potion Mask

Another favorite wintertime mask I’ve used for years. This mask is a dream to use this season because it warms on contact as you apply it all over your face. Its honey helps to get rid of any bacteria (great if you’re an acne sufferer) and skin is super plump and hydrated following use.

Youth to the People Superberry Hydate + Glow Mask

I love this overnight mask. While you sleep it goes to work to thoroughly hydrate, plump and brighten skin thanks to all the right ingredients-  superberries, squalane and hyaluronic acid.

Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil

This body oil is amazing to use year round but I reach for it most when I am suffering from dry, itchy skin on my legs and arms. It’s super lightweight and has the most divine citrusy scent that I absolutely love. It softens and nourishes skin, sinks in quickly to lock in moisture and firms as well.

If you prefer an unscented body oil or have sensitive skin and prefer no fragrance, I recommend the Necessaire Body Oil which I also use and enjoy.

Elemis Dry Brush

Elemis Dry Brush

Do you dry brush your skin? If not, you’re missing out. It stimulates the lymphatic system to help rid the body of toxins and it can be a great way to exfoliate dry skin on the body. I like to do it in the Winter right before a warm shower where I then use a moisturizing body gel and then follow up with a body oil after getting out of the shower. My skin is much smoother and more radiant while being less itchy and irritated due to winter temperatures and dry air.

Caudalie Moisturizing Mask

If you need a boost of hydration in the Winter, this mask will do the trick. I always reach for it in winter when my skin starts to feel tight or dry in patches. Hyaluronic acid delivers hydration to dry skin and a Caudalie ingredient called Vinolevure soothes any redness or irritation and strengthens skin to retain more moisture over time. The mask also features grape seed oil and olive squalane to nourish and therefore further protect the skin’s barrier and preventing future dehydration. Better yet? I love that you can use this either as a 15-minute fix or you can leave it on overnight by applying it as your last step in your nighttime skincare regimen.

Necessaire Hand Cream

This is the only hand cream I have found that I don’t hate using. It’s super fast absorbing and leaves no residue, no stickiness and no slickness behind after application. It was designed to act as an invisible globe for your hands – so skin is protected in dry air and defended against environmental stressors.

Susanne Kaufman Bath Oil

Susanne Kaufmann Essential Bath Oil for the Senses

I had to include this bath oil because it does double duty. It’s lovely and luxurious in your bath and then keeps your skin super soft afterwards. If my skin is dry and itchy when I get into the bath, it’s resolved after when I use this.

Beauty Pie Jeju Daily Rehydration Mist

My skin dries out mid-day thanks to the steam heat used widely in New York so I’ve been reaching for this great spray which has such a soft, fine mist and revives skin to renew hydration thanks to the Hyaluronic Acid in the formula. I’ve tried a lot of face mists and this is one of the best.

Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm

If you often feel like during the wintertime cleansing your skin leaves your skin irritated and dry, this cleansing balm is for you. It’s super hydrating and gentle and works to melt makeup off. It’s a go-to for me and I’m already on my third jar!
