As you well know by now, Fall is my favorite season to shop and invest in pieces that I’ll get loads of wear out. I tend to do a mix of high and low pieces all year round but in Fall I really lean into investment pieces so I can have them for many seasons.
It’s also why I can write posts years later like Clothes in My Closet I Can’t Wait to Wear This Fall linking to items that are still available – because when you invest in classics you’ll have them for so much longer. It’s also why you see me wear a lot of the same pieces often, in a variety of different ways.
So in the latest installment of Things I’ve Bought and Loved Recently – here’s my Fall edition of what I’ve bought for the new season so far.
Things I’ve Bought and Loved Recently – Fall Edition
If you read my Fall Wish List post you’ll likely recognize several of the items below that I ended up picking up.
This fabric is technically called French Terry but I feel like that’s underselling the quality of it! It’s not the French Terry you know from promo and merch sweatshirts. This sweatshirt pullover feels so much nicer than that and I got it in the beautiful neutral ivory color. I’m in love with this! Size M.
I wear stripes year round and loved the sporty vibe of this affordable sweater. It also comes in red. Size M.
The side buttons on this sweater have the slightest bit of sparkle and it’s just so fun. I love that it makes this a bit dressier and definitely special. I got the M but also could have gone for the L for a roomier fit.
I am *in love* with this cozy, perfectly oversized crew. It goes so well with jeans but also black pants and is just so lovely to wear. I got the M.
I actually bought these months ago and am excited to finally have the weather to wear them! I sized up half a size as I usually do with mules.
Some of my favorite blouses are by Sezane and this new lace one is no exception. It feels so special on and the lace is just perfectly feminine. I bought it in a size 8.
This sweatshirt is such a cool fabric to throw on and look sporty yet put together. I sized up to an 8.
A great casual cropped tee for running around or workouts. I got the size 8.
I love knotting this tee – I got it in both black and white. It’s the perfect lightweight and easy to throw on and go. I got the size 6 as it is really oversized.
Looks like Madewell, but a fraction of the price. I got the M but likely could have gone for the S as it runs rather large I found.
Sezane makes such beautiful coats and as soon as I saw this one – with its tailored structure that could be dressed up or dressed down and its statement collar – I bought it in a size 8. It’s even more gorgeous in person.
These jeans are so good. Highwaisted, hit at the ankle and nicely structured so they look really flattering on.
I am really into charcoal for this season and this chunky knit from Everlane is the perfect shade of it. I love the surprise piping detail on the back. I found it runs small – I got my usual M but likely could have gone L for a more roomy fit.
I have several pairs of Levi’s cropped jeans and saw this new pair with the ever so subtle distressing and decided to add them to my denim rotation. I wear size 28 in Levi’s.
After four years of non-stop wear, it was finally time for a new pair of my all-time favorite sneakers. They were largely sold out but I finally hunted them down at Saks in my size (sized down to size 36).
I love thinner, lightweight sweaters as layering pieces under cardigans and this one fit the bill perfectly. I got it in the pretty neutral oatmeal color and sized up to a L which was the perfect fit.
This was a new to me brand but as I believe you can never have enough stripes and this one has such a chic color combo, I decided to buy it in my most recent Net a Porter order. It’s thin enough to be a great layering piece under coats and I know it’ll get so much wear.
My bodysuits were entirely neglected all of 2020 but I am committed to bringing them back now! Agolde makes some of my favorite jeans and this bodysuit is so great. I love the subtle ribbing on it making it nice and casual with just the slightest leveled up look. It’ll layer well under my sweaters, blazers & cardigans. I sized up to a Large.
I ordered a bunch of these to try both the 50mm heel height and the 70mm and also to see sizing. I tend to size up in mules and that did the trick with these. I ended up keeping the 70mm in 37.5 (I’m usually a 36.5 or 37 in designer shoes). It’s been a while since I bought a pair of designer shoes but I decided to get these as a belated birthday present to myself for an upcoming trip. This shoe has been popular for years and years and I love the sophistication it has and how it’ll go with my myriad of blazers that hang in my closet.
These pants are magic! I couldn’t believe how much I like them. You could easily dress them up for work but they’re as comfortable as a legging. You can wear them with a mule, with a sneaker, with a pump or a flat – so, so versatile. I’m wearing them in these photos in a size 6 short.
The most luxe hoodie you ever met. I love how it layers easily under blazers for a cool vibe but then can easily go with jeans for a travel look or pair with comfies at home. I got the M. See it on here.
This blazer is a dream. I got it as a part of my collaboration this Fall with M.M.LaFleur and it’s just so beautiful. The check for Fall is a brushed wool that makes it so soft. I got the 4. See it on here.
I have these sneakers in the cognac color so decided to add the black to my sneaker rotation.
I first saw these waterproof boots on a friend last Winter and when I went to get them they were all sold out. So when I saw them restocked this season I snagged a pair.
You know this had my name all over it! It’s so soft, so cozy and just so cute on. Size M.
I love my OG sweater blazer from J.Crew so you know I had to get this year’s style! Size S.
I love the fit on these. They are a bit trendier of a style but still classic and really flattering. Size 27.
I have this skirt in black and love it so when I spotted the plaid I was so into it! Such a fun seasonal twist and will be so cute with booties. Size S.
