As you well know by now, Fall is my favorite season to shop and invest in pieces that I’ll get loads of wear out. I tend to do a mix of high and low pieces all year round but in Fall I really lean into investment pieces so I can have them for many seasons.
It’s also why I can write posts years later like Clothes in My Closet I Can’t Wait to Wear This Fall linking to items that are still available – because when you invest in classics you’ll have them for so much longer. And, why you see me wear a lot of the same pieces often, in a variety of different ways.
So in the latest installment of Things I’ve Bought and Loved Recently – here’s my Fall edition of what I’ve bought for the new season so far.
Things I’ve Bought and Loved Recently – Fall Edition
These DL1961 Enora Cigarette High Rise Jeans.
DL1961 is another denim brand I used to shop and recently revisited because I loved the wash of these jeans. They don’t have a lot of stretch which is how I prefer most of my denim and they hit right below my ankle. I think they are a good jean you can easily dress up. I bought them in a size 28.
This wool oversized blazer jacket.
The new Sezane Ralph Jacket is so good. Part outerwear, part blazer and so chic. Wearing a size 6.
Sezane Tomboy shirt
I’ve owned the Sezane Tomboy shirt for 5+ years so mine had seen quiet a bit of wear. I bought a fresh one in one size larger (size 10) so it was a bit more oversized this time.
Classic crewneck sweater
I am very into charcoal gray this season and so I loved the look of this oversized, classic crewneck sweater. Wearing a size M.
Pictured styled with the DL1961 Enora Cigarette High Rise Jeans again.
Wool charcoal jacket
I own this blazer-jacket from Sezane in the beautiful navy and love the fit of it so when I saw the new wool charcoal drop as part of the Fall Arrivals, I snagged it right away. Wearing a size 6.
This sculptural wool bomber jacket from Me + Em*. Wearing an 8.
Seen styled with these shoes, these jeans (size 27) and this hat.
Slip dress
This under $100 slip dress is so beautiful and great for travel. Wearing an 8.
Midi dress by Me + Em
I absolutely loved shooting this beautiful, textured midi dress by Me + Em* in Paris for this collaboration. I can’t wait for my next occasion to wear it again! Wearing a size 8.
M.M.LaFleur O’Hara blazer
My beloved M.M.LaFleur O’Hara blazer* in this beautiful new plaid. Size 4.
This fun and cozy sweater*
I’ll be pulling back out again around the holidays. Size M.
These Agolde Vintage High Rise Boot Jeans.
Based on how these looked on the model I was expecting a different jean that was more ankle length but the model must have been very tall! Regardless, I actually like how on trend this style looks on me – more of a 90s jean. Wearing a size 28.
Styled with this jacket in size M.
This Sezane Sweater (runs big – wearing a S) I own in two colors now and these off white jeans.
Chocolate brown sweater and trousers
Chocolate brown is one of my favorite trends for fall this year and I’ve already picked up this sweater (size M) and these trousers (size 28 but size up if you’re in between sizes) in the shade.
This classic shoulder bag and these new earrings.
This sweater set.
Wearing an XL in the sweater – it runs very small – a Large in the skirt.
And these knee-high slouchy boots.
This Jenni Kayne everyday sweater in the prettiest camel. Size M.
This beautiful Veronica Beard Herringbone Blazer*.
Wearing a 6.
These booties in a new-to-me color way – the beautiful cacao color!
These in black have been the most comfortable, most worn in my closet for over six years (similar more affordable style here). See also: all my favorite shoes.
This whole outfit I couldn’t love more.
This whole look as well.
This & Other Stories coat I just got in charcoal gray*.
They do such good coats! I size down to a Small in nearly every style I own from them. I already owned this coat in both black and navy as seen above. They are hands down my most worn Fall and Winter Coats. I can’t wait to wear the gray once cooler weather arrives!
This textured crop jacket from Massimo Dutti.
Also comes in black. Wearing a L.
This beautifully tailored Veronica Beard blazer (6)*. Also comes with gold buttons or in black!
These Paige Sarah Straight Ankle Jeans.
It had been a long time since I bought a pair of Paige denim but these are great. The denim is lightweight with a bit of stretch and some light distressing and casual fading. They hit perfectly at my ankle and I like the slimming effect they have.
These Agolde Parker High Waist Crop Relaxed Straight Leg Jeans.
I love lighter wash denim as transitional denim. Perfect for Spring into Summer and Summer into Fall. This pair by Agolde are a great example of how when a jean does not look in person like it does on the model. I like this pair with its slight distressing for casual looks.
This sequin dress*.
This whole outfit*.
This fun red jacket from Veronica Beard*.
Sized up to an 8.
This Varley pullover.
Chic and comfy. Wearing a S but wish I had gotten the M.
This Abercrombie sweatshirt in size M.
Their whole YPB active line is full of gems!
This Target knit dress.
Such a gem of a find. I got it in a size M and it also comes in black.
Target slip dress
This Target slip dress in a beautiful cinnamon color. Wearing a M – it also comes in other colors!
A few more items I haven’t photographed yet:
- These *perfect* loafers from Freda Salvador*. They are even more beautiful in person. You can use code WITWHIMSY15 for 15% off your first Freda purchase! My other favorite pair from the brand are these boots that are so lightweight and waterproof! I am tempted to get another color after wearing my brown suede pair so much last year. Related: A Roundup of My Favorite Boots and Booties.
- These Adidas Sambas sneakers. I sized down half a size.
- This chic take on a puffer jacket from Gap. I love that it has a hood! I sized down to a S.
- This fun sequin dress for my upcoming trip to Vegas. It is such a fun dress! Size M.
- A striped cardigan and this striped knit – sized up in both to size L.
- This dress and this dress from Tuckernuck*. Both in M.
- This beautiful chocolate brown bucket bag from J.Crew*.

Hi Meghan! Love this post. Wondering if you have a recommendation for no-show socks to wear with low profile white sneakers? (I just bought the Sam Edelman “Ethyl” style.) Thanks!!
You bet! I have these https://amzn.to/3ATsd1D and they’re great. I have also gotten good ones at h&m and gap in the past!
Purchased! Thanks, Meghan 🙂
I absolutely love this post! How serendipitous that I was looking for a black and white scarf and the main photo has the scarf I’m looking for! Thanks so much for sharing such amazing finds.
I’m absolutely loving EVERYTHING. The cinnamon slip dress is getting added to my cart. Brown is really having a moment! I’ll be saving this as a reference, I’m currently shifting to a more classic style myself. I grabbed a few things from mango recently as well! Thanks for all of this!!
I am so glad I’m helping to define your personal style! Thank you for letting me know!
Your blazer collection always inspires me! Wish I lived somewhere I could don jackets every day 🙂
I do, too! I wait all summer for the return of jacket season ha!
The DL1961 Enora jeans are very flattering! I am a fan of their Mara jeans style but I’d love to try these after seeing your pictures.
I was really surprised by them! Let me know if you end up getting + liking them!
